| The Reign Of Kindo – Nice to Meet You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
According to the booklet: NICE TO MEET YOU There comes a time when you make up your mind Oh where to lay your lonely roots down. And I've been traveling so far and wide Seen the deepest depths and heights beyond high So I'm surprised to see you with my eyes When my mind's best dreams Had left your face so incomplete. It's nice to meet you And oh, the day that I chased you away When the words I spoke were terribly wrong And I confess that I made quite the mess But it's just too late and now you've moved on Take me back to the days of the sun Brightly shining down on the two of us We used to lie staring into the sky Leaving every toil and worry so far behind us. It was nice to meet you So now I pack my bags again With all this time to spend To walk the earth without you by my side All the fields and hills I roam Will never feel like home And how I wish that you'd never left But it's just too late now. |
| The Reign Of Kindo – The Moments In Between Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is how the lyrics appear in the booklet: THE MOMENTS IN BETWEEN The moments in between the words I hear you speak Are desolate and clean and leave me feeling weak I just want to see the beautiful world in my dreams But all I see is me in the center of all I seek Now I feel like a ghost in a world that is fading All I've been taught to recall simply Fails to persuade me The Truth tends to sting While it heals and the only way back Is screaming the words Oh my God What have I become I feel this fire burn Burn 'till I'm undone And never to return I remember when The wind brought heaven's scent And the stars that filled the sky Drew a line between You and I. Lift up your voice loud I declare myself this hour Simply dust that's entrusted with such a peculiar power. There's nothing like living, asleep in some hazy dream. Then your eyes open to see what they've never seen. Oh the first time that my gaze fell upon this place. How I shudder to think what I've become. |

| Means – Cadences Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This goes at the beginning: (spoken word) In one sense we are always travelling And travelling as if we do not know where we are going In another sense we have already arrived We cannot arrive at the perfect possesion of love in this life And that is why we are travelling and travelling in this darkness But we already possess love by grace And therefore in that sense we have arrived And are dwelling in that light But Oh! How far are you and I go to find that love in whom we have arrived |

| Thrice – The Arsonist Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think maybe the city could be seen as a person; the heart of a person. (There's another song that comes to mind, one called "Through the Wires" by Means, in which the vocalist refers to our hearts as God's lost cities. It's on here, the lyrics weren't there so I just put them up.) Anyway I think the blaze can be seen as a refining fire. People go through trials and come out broken but the better for it, you know? Like a refiner's fire melts impurities from metal, or in this case how a city can be burned down and rebuilt as something better. ~b |

Oh, and here's a link to the sermon: http://www.ccel.org/ccel/edwards/sermons.sinners.html |
| Thrice – The Flame Deluge Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is long, bear with me... I do believe the "smallest thread" and flood lines may be from "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God." It was a sermon given by John Edwards in 1741. Alluding to the THREAD: "You hang by a SLENDER THREAD, with the flames of divine wrath flashing about it, and ready every moment to singe it, and burn it asunder; and you have no interest in any Mediator, and nothing to lay hold of to save yourself, nothing to keep off the flames of wrath, nothing of your own, nothing that you ever have done, nothing that you can do, to induce God to spare you one moment." And the SECOND FLOOD: "It is true, that judgment against your evil works has not been executed hitherto; the FLOODS of God's vengeance have been withheld; but your guilt in the mean time is constantly increasing, and you are every day treasuring up more wrath; the waters are constantly rising, and waxing more and more mighty; and there is nothing but the mere pleasure of God, that HOLDS THE WATER BACK, that are unwilling to be stopped, and press hard to go forward. If God should only withdraw his hand from the FLOOD-GATE, it would immediately fly open, and the fiery floods of the fierceness and wrath of God, would rush forth with inconceivable fury, and would come upon you with omnipotent power" Not sure how I personally feel about that sermon yet but I thought the thread and second flood may allude to those. Hope that helps. In His grace, ~b |

| I always thought "the main" was another term for the ocean... | |
| Thrice – Flags of Dawn Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Very generally... This song imo refers to the return of Christ, and Dustin encouraging believers to hold on, hold on to the day that we will overcome the world through Christ's power. :) "The Morning Star will soon appear..." Believe it or not I think this just might be my favorite Thrice song. :) |

| Sooo Beatles-esque. | |
| Demon Hunter – Coffin Builder (feat. Trevor McNevan) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
The beauty of God's grace is that one needn't plea for His forgiveness. I think that the last part is the singer realizing how his dwelling on the remorse is just breaking him down, because that's not how Christ's forgiveness is supposed to work. That kind of contradicts with the first part, where he says that he's lost the feeling of fuilt. But maybe that's it. He's not guilty, so his cries for mercy are half-hearted. He realizes that his situation is causing him to detiorate and "his fall" is drawing near. *shrug* Sounds good to me! :-D |

| Kids in the Way – Burt Rutan Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| "I wrote this song after reading Psalm 106. David is praising God for His mercy, yet warning the people of Israel of the same actions of their ancestors. It made me think about our nation today. Not that I think God will destroy us, but I think we are definitely worthy of it. We live in times where people are fighting for gay marriages, where people are fighting for the legal murdering of babies, where the word of God and the act of prayer have been de-valued, where sex and violence have become a standard. How did we fall so far? Did Godly men with Godly character and standards not found this country? It’s become very apparent that our nation is in much need of God again. That leaves the church. Not that God needs us, but it’s our responsibility to love the lost, show them a better way, and lead them from destruction. This song is my warning." - Dave Pelsue (Kids In The Way) | |
| Kids in the Way – Breaking The Legs Of Sheep Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| "Well if you want to know the artist personally, this is the song that does it. I wrote this song during a very painful growing time in my spiritual life. I had kind of been cruising along for sometime, not really challenging myself or growing with the Lord and it started to become very apparent. I found myself dealing with a lot of my poor decisions and weaknesses. And it hurt very badly. During this time I remembered a lesson I had heard once over Psalm 23. In the few opening verses it talks about the Lord being our Shepard and how He leads us to still waters and makes us lie down in green pastures. We are the sheep, and He is our master, looking out for us. Protecting us. The teacher informed us that sheep are a very dumb animal, and will put themselves into danger without even knowing it. Even after being returned to the herd, they will wander back into the same danger they were just in. To keep them from doing so, sometimes the Shepard would have to break the sheep’s legs to “make them lie down” in the safety of the pasture. Recalling this lesson, I realized God was breaking my legs and telling me I needed to get on the ball and remember my call and duty to be a man of God." - Dave Pelsue (Kids In The Way) | |
| Kids in the Way – Blind Behind The Wheel Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| "Hindsight is always 20/20. I think it’s remarkable how we can look back at the circumstances of life and learn from our mistakes. However, I think its important most of the time to use foresight and responsibility to eliminate tough times. I really wanted to emphasize the severity of making the right choice the first time, so in this song I paralleled our lives and our choices with an automobile. In the song, I place you among the carnage of a horrible crash that leaves a life hanging in the balance. It is a situation where hindsight may be pretty costly." - Dave Pelsue (Kids In The Way) | |
| Kids in the Way – Safety In The Darkness Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Okay, so I was wrong. A little. Here's the official say. From Dave himself. "This song came from an amazing experience I had last year. I was at home, and I was going through some pretty rough trials in my personal life. It was probably one of the most oppressive times of my life. I really felt Satan and his hordes closing in on me. One night while I was sleeping, I was quickly awakened by fear. I just suddenly sat up in my bed and could feel the dark presence in my room. I immediately began praying and singing worship to God in the darkness of my room. After about an hour of pretty intense communication, a huge storm outside began and a few large bolts of lightning lit my room up like the sun. Suddenly, I felt the ultimate peace and safety that comes only from my God. At that moment I realized that in my darkest, scariest, loneliest times, that’s when God can be the closest and there is no reason to be afraid." - Dave Pelsue (Kids In The Way) |
| Kids in the Way – Safety In The Darkness Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I read Dave's explanation somewhere, but I don't remember it all that well... I think his inspiration for this came from when he was in a room during a thunderstorm and just felt this evil presence around him. He realized that, even in times like this, the Holy Spirit is still with us and will protect us, hence the title, Safety (Even) In The Darkness. | |
| Kids in the Way – We Are Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Hmm. Pretty straightforward. Ha ha. Since these guys are Christian, I believe that they're also saying that they won't move from their faith. | |
| He Is Legend – China White Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Yes, Wikipedia works. And this meaning would also make sense, due to the fact that a lot of HIL's stuff is based on literature and/or movies. After all, their name is from a book. I mean, gosh. Haha. |
| He Is Legend – China White Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I'm almost positive that this song is based on events in the book "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald. It's one of those great American classics, and I like it... But, it IS one of the classics, which means at times, it's hard to get through. Good thing, though, is that it's only 115 pages. (Or at least my copy, which is unabridged.) So yeah. Now you can either A) go find the book at a library and read it, B) ask a friend who has read The Great Gatsby (and still remembers it) to help you figure out the song, or C) go find a summary of the book online somewhere. (Try wikipedia?) |

| Emery – The Secret Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Okay, here we go... My interpretation... "On the way to grey I could hardly wait to see You again"~We say that good and bad are usually black and white. When you start drifting away from white and finding that line between white and black, you're in the grey. I think this line symbolizes his want to see Jesus and see the white clearly. When things confuse him, he can't wait to see Jesus through it all and know that he's there. He wants to feel God through the "storm," or a tough trial in his life. Then the following is his response to God: "Why do you look at me that way?...Too busy to see you...Never keep a secret from you."~ I think that this line is him trying to make excuses to why he didn't seek God earlier, and he only seeked him in his time of need. Going on, he says that he'll be back only when he needs him, and only if he has the time. "Can't you see...no time to think selfishly?"~ I believe this line to be countering the excuses. I think that this is God talking. He says that this mindset is wrong and that it's really selfish. He's saying that times flies and that He will always love the singer. I dunno. My take. :P |

| Project 86 – 3 card Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Well... Want to hear a bogus meaning? I think that this has to do with how video games and gambling can get you arrested! The thumb thing... Video games. A racing game. The illegal racing has influenced his life so much that he lost his real license. So stunts in the game (deep tricks) and the media (tivo) have influenced his grip on reality, and now he treats life like a video game. He wants an airforce pilot like in the video games. The photograph that he must show is his license that he had taken away. Haha. There's so much that makes no sense about this song. In fact, none of this song makes sense. |

| Anberlin – Love Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Okay... I love the idea of this being from a guy to a girl or a girl to a guy, but the last verse "...You make me feel like I am clean again" makes me think he's singing this to God. You know, I'm probably just completely wrong, but that's my take. I think this is the lead's love song to God. :P Ker-blah!!! Yay! I like Anberlin... |
| Project 86 – Open Hand Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Well... After listening to it, it's a huge stretch to think he might have said "wounds," but yeah. I'll investigate if I get the time. | |
| Project 86 – Open Hand Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Maybe it's "Seven WOUNDS." Go look it up. It's a catholic prayer that's essentially just a reminder of the pain that Jesus went through when he died for us. It states that there are seven different "wounds" than Jesus experienced as he died... Yeah, just go look it up. | |
| Project 86 – Star Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think that the third verse means (if this is referring to Christianity) that he knows he's more than just part of the noise and wants to be more than just "another Christian," and when he steps through and moves past collectively, he's moving past the collective... Or the group of those luke-warm Christians. He knows that God can use him for more. I dunno. Wild guesses. | |
| Project 86 – 3 card Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Don't know if this is just a rumor... But supposedly if you play it backwards it says something. Haven't tried it myself cuz I don't know how... But maybe it has meaning when you play it backwards... Otherwise this song is just nutz... O_o | |
| Emery – Miss Behavin' Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Guy likes girl. Girl thinks she is too good for guy, but takes advantage of the fact that he likes her so much. He'll do anything to gain her love, but she is just using him. Reminds me of Estella and Pip from Great Expectations... Lol... Still not 100% sure what the dude is screaming... It does sound like "I...Could Never...Find...Such a pretty face, a pretty face, I..." But I always used to think he was saying "I...Fall Downward...Such a ???" Never did figure it out. I'll just expect it's the pretty face thing. Lol. :P |
| Emery – The Weakest Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Well... For one, these lyrics are kinda messed up... Oh well. I've never really understood this song. This is one of those songs that's baffled me for a long time. There's two possibilities that I see... A)The singer is sick of life on earth when he compares to life in Heaven with Jesus, so he wants to kill himself to be there. But since Emery is a Christian band, I don't think this is the case. B) The gun is a metaphor of taking your life into your own hands. Like, "I have a gun. I'm in control of my life now; I could kill myself if I wanted. I have to power to have complete control over my life." If this is the case, which seems the most probable to me, then the last part ("Put on your coat...") is saying that that mindset is all just an illusion, that it just ends in tragedy. I dunno. I could write a whole two pages on what this song might mean... But since I don't really know... Heh heh... Hope that helps... A little... |
| mewithoutYou – Son of a Widow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"I'll ring your doorbell until You let me in and I can go no longer where 'you' end and "I" begin" This is how I take these lines : The singer will go into the door (his death) when it is opened (by Jesus). He is no longer on Earth, where God sometimes is forgotten. He is no longer on Earth, where he was born. The converse is this: He is in Heaven, where God is at the center of everything. He is in Heaven, no longer where he began (was born). So yeah. W00t. This song is awesome... I love mewithoutYou's lyrics, but sometimes they're so hard to understand... :S |
| Kids in the Way – Even Snakes Have Hearts Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This is basically a song that is describing the life of Judas. In the Bible, Judas betrays Jesus for 30 silver coins. Judas kisses Jesus on the cheek before Jesus is taken away to be judged, hence the "So kiss my face..." line. Out of guilt, Judas later hangs himself, hence "the rope pulls tight under your weight, the nightmare ends today." Now that I've examined the obvious metaphors very briefly, I'll leave you to figure out the moral meaning... |
