| Fall Out Boy – The (Shipped) Gold Standard Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this is by far my fave song of folie a deux, though the intro kind of bothers me... the line "i wanna scream 'i love you' from the top of my lungs, but i'm afraid that someone else will hear me" is genius. lines like this are the reason i listen to fob. and i do think it's about the current economic situation/problems with the world in general... |

| Bayside – Moceanu Lyrics | 17 years ago |
ihaveastupidsn55 - that makes sense... this is by far the most fun song on this album. |
| Motion City Soundtrack – It Had to Be You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i am obsessed with the lyrics in this song. "let's get wrecked on pop tarts and sex" "let's fight crimes with mangoes and limes and join the PGA" "what a disaster it would be if you discovered that i cared a little too much for friends but not enough to share" justin pierre is a musical genius and i love him forever and ever and ever. |
| Jack's Mannequin – American Love Lyrics | 17 years ago |
okay i don't know if anyone else is as crazy as i am, but at like 2:45, right before the chorus, there is this drum thing going on that i am absolutely in love with. and i love the line "big hearts are for breaking" |
| Jack's Mannequin – Swim Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this is by far my favorite song on this album. just the first couple lines: "You gotta swim Swim for your life Swim for the music That saves you When you're not sure that you'll survive" that pretty much sums up my life. |
| The Starting Line – Bedroom Talk Lyrics | 18 years ago |
has anyone else but me noticed there are two different versions of this song out there?? cuz in the version i've got the line "you're gonna stay like that for now." is missing... |
| Run Kid Run – Wake Up, Get Up Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| what exactly does he mean by "we learned to change but did we change to learn"? | |
| All Time Low – Come One, Come All Lyrics | 18 years ago |
omg i don't know what's wrong with people this is my favorite song on the album. personally i hate djs in gneneral and the fact that all time low wrote a song about it just is really funny to me. i mean yea, this song has like no depth or anything but it's just hillarious. you people are all crazy. |
| 30 Seconds to Mars – From Yesterday Lyrics | 18 years ago |
all this controversy over lyrics is great and all, but does anyone understand this video? seriously, it's so utterly confusing. o and the full version's the only one that really matters - here it is: http://music.aol.com/video/from-yesterday/30-seconds-to-mars/1775925 |

| Motion City Soundtrack – Antonia Lyrics | 18 years ago |
anyone know what justin's ex-girlfriend's name is? becuase i feel like every song on this album is about her in some way, shape, or form and i think this might be her name? i don't know i couldn't find anything about her online, but that doesn't mean nobody knows. but anyways i really like this song. it reminds me a lot of the future freaks me out becuase it's about a girl and all these traits she has... plus i love all of the really random lines justin puts in here. only real mcs songs have at least one of those. i think my favorite line in this song is "she misplaced her virginity in 1995". |
| Motion City Soundtrack – Fell in Love Without You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
yea it's don't stop. i acutally really like the concept of this song. not quite sure how it reflects justin's life (seeing as like every other song on this album is about his relationship), but i haven't listened to it that much. |
| Motion City Soundtrack – Broken Heart Lyrics | 18 years ago |
eh the new cd's only okay. this is like one of the best songs. it's really dissapointing. but everyone knows that justin pierre can't write anything good sober anymore. plus nothign could ever be better than commit this to memory. |
| Motion City Soundtrack – Last Night Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| i think it's about justin pierre breaking up with his girlfriend. | |
| The Used – The Bird and the Worm Lyrics | 18 years ago |
see i used to be a used fan but not like hardcore or anything, but then i heard they were coming out with a new album and i was like um okay i'll try it out so i did. i loved this song so much but was really afraid to watch the video becuase my friend told me it was creepy and it was but i acutally really liked it. i don't think it's about any one type of person in particular (like gay or cutter or anything) i think it's just about people who maybe don't fit in to society's idea of what kids should be or whatever and just someome trying to find their way out. there's like some people (like that sketchy guy in the mirror) trying to pull the kid into the "dark" side and that couch... i just think he's trying to find himself. |
| Yellowcard – Paper Walls Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song is absolutely genius. it's my favorite i think from this album (which is strange because usually the title song sucks). i really like that they put the chior in the begining - i think it shows that a rock band doesn't just have to use the same basic intsruments. i mean obviously they 've shown that they can be different by having a violinist, but this just further proves it. i really like the way this song talks about the band but can really pertain to anyone about any situation. |
| Rise Against – Chamber the Cartridge Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i was going to the cubs game today and we took the CTA there and we got to the stop Noyes and me and my friends heard the voice go "this is Noyes" and i was like wait, that sounds familar and we figured out that it was from this song! amazingness. yay for chicago! |
| Madina Lake – Here I Stand Lyrics | 18 years ago |
if you've seen this music video, you know that the girl they're talking about is adalia becuase there's like missing person posters everywhere for her... but how does that connect to this song? cuz that song is about like how she wants to kill herself... is it about how like the guy is going to pretend he doesn't care if she breaks up with him but is really going to stay commited to her to help her out of her depression so they can be togehter?? idk that's just my opinion... |

| Gym Class Heroes – Nothing Boy Vs. The Echo Factor Lyrics | 19 years ago |
by far my fave gch song ever. i think he's just fed up with no one listening to him or ever taking him seriously, and he wants to be noticed somehow or another. once you start singing this song you just can't stop because it all goes together. |
| Archie Star – Let's Get Married Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| my friend was at that concert too, now one of my other friends refuses to listen to archie star cuz she loved october fall... | |
| Boys Like Girls – Thunder (Demo) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
this is song is acutally called thunder, it's just an acourstic version, so its name should be changed to thunder (acoustic) anyways, i love this song. there are no words to describe it. seriously. me and my friend serenade each other all the time with it. |
| Archie Star – Let's Get Married Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| yea i knew that october fall and archie star were related but i wasn't quite sure how, but october fall acutally broke up cuz of them becuase of some issues they had i'm not quite sure what my friend was at the concert when they announced their breakup. i know it's really upsetting cuz i looove october fall but i like archie star better so i'ts all good. | |
| Cobra Starship – Pop-Punk Is Sooooo '05 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| well idk to me this song was more bashing all the pop-punk bands that emerged into the public recently, like fall out boy and panic! at the disco, and saying that people don't really care about them, that's the whole "what you got means shit to me" part... and also i think he's saying that these new bands think they're all that and a bag of chips and all punk or wvr when they're acutally pretty sucky and pop. idk that's just whay i think. | |
| Cobra Starship – The Church Of Hot Addiction Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| so how exactly does this video relate to the song at all?? | |

| Natasha Bedingfield – Unwritten Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| ok i have to say that i have never ever listened to a female singer before this. like ever. my sister was playing this one day and i fell in love with the lyrics. it's inspiring (to me at least) because i've been trying to get myself to speak my mind for the longest time, and this song has def. pushed me to it. so thanks to whoever wrote it. | |
| Matchbook Romance – Monsters Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i agree with rockbass in that their trying to refute all the propaganda around us today. every kid when they're little thinks that there's monsters under their bed, and so they're becoming those monsters, but then they're also saying that they might be there ("believe what you read") idk that's just my interpretaion... | |
| Mae – Breakdown Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i think this song is about a guy who has fallen in love with a girl, but is looking for something to go wrong becuase he's not used to everything going good (like in someone else's arms). i think that he's looking for a fault in this relationship to come, but i don't think it ever does. | |
| Boys Night Out – Introducing Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| so this cd is a story. i like it a lot. story cd's are fun to analyze. but ANYways, this cd is very depressing. so first, this guy kills his wife in a dream, but hates to admit it happened. then he is hospitalized, but gets the doctor to let him out. bad idea. he then cuts off his hands, which sends him back to the hospital and takes shit loads of meds, but OD's on like all of them. so he then creates a song in his head to keep his wife alive, and everyone he sings the song to is dead. he also trys to keep his sanity by repeating "the lines i wear around my wrist are there to prove that i exist", as he chants it almost religiously in "dying" about twenty or more times. even though he has so many different drugs, alcohol, and other disturbing substances ("we're having strychnine and sirloin port wine and paint thinner") in his system, he still can not get over the fact that his wife is dead and by the end i think that he finally realizes that she isn't coming back, and eventually he dies from insanity and severe depression. how heartwarming. | |
| Daniel Powter – Bad Day Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| well lemme start by saying this song is AMAZING. the video explains the whole thing, pretty much. i can't decide whether or not the guy and the girl have never met, or they used to date but broke up but still like each other. i def. agree more so with the never met analysis because niether of them seems to enjoy there job at all, so draw instead. when the girl sees the poster at the subway station, and beucase she's in a bad mood from work, she makes the picture seem all sad and depressed. but the guy comes along and adds the umbrella to keep the rain off her. when she draws the taxi splashing water on her, he comes again to save her with his coat (i think that's what it is). so when he draws the guy (himself) with the question mark, i think that from all the drawings they have sort of developed a relationship and asks if she wants to pursue it. since this poster is all they share, she of course says yes by making the quesiton mark into a heart, and thus they meet, in the rain, under a red umbrella, with a taxi nearby. seem perfect? a little too perfect, i must admit. but it's such a cute song. | |
| The Postal Service – Such Great Heights Lyrics | 20 years ago |
k this is prob. they're best song despite the fact that it's the most popular. i'm not a huge fan of the radio b/c ppl like my sister listen to only what's popular and it's not b/c im trying to be an outcast or anything i just don't like it when like everyother person's favorte song is the same as yours... kinda defeats the purpose. but anyways, i think this song is about a couple who are like totally perfect for each other - "I was thinking it's a sign that the freckles in our eyes are mirror images and when we kiss they're perfectly aligned" - makes them seem like they were made for each other. i think that one of them has to go away for a while - "when I am missing you to death when you are out there on the road for several weeks of shows and when you scan the radio I hope this song will guide you home" - makes whoever is at home seem like all depressed w/o the other... like one half of a whole has been taken away and the other can't seem to function w/o the one... but how does this all fit with the video? that's what confuses me the most about this song... i mean they're in space apparently building something, but what? i think that the two people are the couple, but i don't understand b/c they're together so that wouldn't make sense with those few lines... but the part where they get a close up of the earth goes with the chorus - "they will see us waving from such great heights"come down now," they'll say but everything looks perfect from far away "come down now," but we'll stay . . ." - they are up in space and everyone from earth sees them but they stay up in the space station... idk that's just what i think... if anyone else understands this video i wanna know what you think |
| Jack's Mannequin – La La Lie Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| well i def. agree with crazeypotter about the spaceman part... i was trying to figure out what that was refering to- if it was drugs or what. but i think it's about an emotional weight that can't be lifted off his shoulders. | |
| The Starting Line – Autography Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| i love this song x100000000 anyone know what it's about??? | |
| Mae – Epilogue Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| this makes it seem a book on tape... | |
| Mae – Someone Else's Arms Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| i think that the relationship he has with his current girlfriend or whoever she is just isn't working out it's sort of a mutual thing b/c neither can sleep well and so he just wants to get out of the relationship like as fast as he can even tho he knows he may regret it later:"one-man game, one truth to tell/all this blame, hammers your way to hell" | |
| Panic! at the Disco – I Write Sins Not Tragedies Lyrics | 20 years ago |
yea i think it can be taken literally or metaphorically, depending on what the writer meant it to mean. personally, i look at it as an extended metaphor: basically saying not to trust strangers: "what a beatiful wedding says a bridesmaid to a waiter o yes but what a shame what a shame the poor groom's bride is a whore" but it doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing: "o well in fact well ill look at it this way i mean techically our marriage is saved well this calls for a toast so pour the champange" i think he's saying that you can't keep secrets forever you're going to find out eventually so you might as well just learn to deal with your problems. |
| Mae – Mistakes We Knew We Were Making Lyrics | 20 years ago |
i think its about a couple who just really love each other and they kinda just lead to having unplaned sex... i think they knew it was wrong but did it anyways "mistakes we knew we were making don't think about chances we're taking don't think about rules we were breaking" and they def. had the kid because "and when we try to think of the life inside, we foundn ourselves lookin at the world through new eyes... on, liitle one on the other side" idk if that's totally rite but this is song is totally amazing anyways my favorite quote ever is from it " dance until the band stops playing, sing with all your mite" but how does that fit in to the meaning of the song? that's what confuses me... |
