| The Libertines – Lust Of The Libertines Lyrics

I always thought it was a babyshambles song, but I'm fairly sure it's not. I think it's probably from one of the sessions, and the name of the song is actually from a book, or a film...just ironic that's all. |

It's a libertines song, written whilst pete was still in the libertines. it was sung when they had that reunion after pete came out of prison, and again at the reunion at the hackney empire. |

Oh, and have since realised it is Pete and it is from a recording session he did on his own, although am not sure history of when etc, so dunno if it does have any special importance. although even if it was before all the bad stuff, it has incredible irony like so many of the libs songs |

I think it is a cover....cos isn't 'do who's got the crack', like there's 'do the coral', as in sing that song by the coral. I dunno...funny though. i like it at the end when carl says 'not you, thank the lord' |

Just makes me happy...yeah, I've heard they lived in Delaney something or other, but I think it was Albion Terraces or something like that that wasn't as grand as it's name. Still...great song. |

Anyone know the version Pete sings on his own? I don't know what it's from, but he's changed the words in one of the verses to 'Taught me how to play guitar, how to smoke my cigarette like a superstar, taught me how to steal a car', then something I can't quite work out. And he sings 'kick him while he's down' and something else I can't quite work out. But it's the saddest version, especially in the chorus, because he just repeats 'you can't stand me', without carl's bit, and it just sounds so lonely and upset. I wasn't sure if it was Carl singing on his own because someone mentioned a version of that and I can't always differentiate between the two voices, but based on the words I think it's Pete. Anyone know if it is Pete or Carl, or am I just missing the mark and it's someone else completely? |

I don't really like The Ordinary Boys, but I think this song is really good, really sweet. Quite simple aswell, which I like. |

| Robbie Williams – John's Gay Lyrics

It's talking about ecstasy, which is sometimes shortened to 'e'.
It's funny, since I wrote that, this song makes even more sense to me, because I am in my last year of secondary school. It's like in year seven, year eight, you're still really a kid, and then you sort of get to like 13, 14, and you start to think about sex, but maybe you don't really understand it yet- 'and he says that he's had sex, with a girl for a effect'.
And then you get to 15, 16, and you lose your virgintiy, and suddenly you're grown up, except you aren't really 'i know too much to feel young', you aren't the same as you used to be. I can really relate to it now. |

But my body feels so good and I still sing a razor line everytime."
Favourite line.
Great song. |

I don't think she's being shallow....I mean, yeah it's not deep, but she's just saying how she got her own back on an ex, and how it makes her happy, just cos he hurt her so much. It's nothin to do with 'youth culture' or her class if you ask me. I don't think it should be taken too seriously. |

I can't believe no one has commented, I love this song...I love the fact it is talking about such a crap place in a really dancy song. It's just talking about a complete dump, but it makes me want to dance! Also, I like that Jarvis's voice sounds like he really hates the place, but again it's against a really cheery dancy beat. |

It confuses me how it says ''I didn't mean to fall in love'', I interpreted as he just wants to have a good time, but now he's falling for her...or something like that.
Anyhoo, I love this song, it makes me feel summery and want to dance! |

| The Kinks – Waterloo Sunset Lyrics

I\'ve heard that when Ray Davies was writing this, years before it was recorded, it was called Liverpool Sunset, but then with all the Beatlemania and the like, they changed it, so it didn\'t sound like a ripoff. Just a little random piece of info there!
I absolutely adore this song anyhow, it reminds me of my mum continually playing this when I was a kid. It just seems to mean a nice happy place someone can go to, where all troubles diseappear, at least for the time being. |
