Pretty straight forward, Preston is talking about his inability to write a proper love song, so he can only say I love you to get his point across.
I don't really like The Ordinary Boys, but I think this song is really good, really sweet. Quite simple aswell, which I like.
Why "I Luv U" instead of I Love You
Omigod i think this song is so amazing! Normally i hate the ordinary boys but this has got to be one of the best songs out at the moment! eep! XD
something like em_c, this song is quite unavoidable cute, quite uncomplicated, its a statement and its beautiful.

I can't believe this is the same band that wrote Week In, Week Out and Over The Counter Culture. What a bunch of sellouts.
So I was wondering if the song isn't just that he doesn't know how to tell her he loves her, or how to write a love song...it's more that he doesn't know how to tell her he loves her without it sounding too impersonal and cliched - hence the lines about tired cliches.
I feel the same about my good lady - I can tell her I love her all day long, but it isn;t anything new and individual. He wants a way of expressing he loves her at such a depper level than he can manage with the standard "I love you like a ....
Although "I Luv U" is absolutely nothing like "Seaside" or other TOB songs, it's still a cute love song. It's one of my favourites... Preston and company really know how to make charming music, if you ask me...
WHAT HAPPENED???
I used to love this band. Seriously, they were fantastic. But now they're churning out this kind of crap I cannot bare to listen to them. A real shame they sold out, a real shame.
