I think it just means all that childhood stuff, and how it changes when you grow up.
Yes, I think the same. I love how he tends to write stuff about those days. But there are some phrases I don't catch, like "I lost my virginity, the year above us had discovered E". I don't get "the year above us had discovered E", and he repeats this phrase in a recent track, "The 80s". Help, anyone?
It's talking about ecstasy, which is sometimes shortened to 'e'. It's funny, since I wrote that, this song makes even more sense to me, because I am in my last year of secondary school. It's like in year seven, year eight, you're still really a kid, and then you sort of get to like 13, 14, and you start to think about sex, but maybe you don't really understand it yet- 'and he says that he's had sex, with a girl for a effect'. And then you get to 15, 16, and you lose your virgintiy, and suddenly you're grown up, except you aren't really 'i know too much to feel young', you aren't the same as you used to be. I can really relate to it now.
