| Billy Idol – Into the Night Lyrics | 8 years ago |
| There is a verse after "And all the undead souls who walk the night", and it sounds like "they can suck my dick". | |
| Eagles – Long Road Out of Eden Lyrics | 9 years ago |
| I think that Eden is "the garden" full of "flowers" (socialites). I think there's a link between Eden and Hotel California -- a place you cannot leave, even if you try. However, leaving Eden seems possible, but requires a lifetime of experience. Unfortunately, leaving means you're alone: the instruments quitting one by one until t's just a marching snare, which too gives up until it's nothing but a desert wind. | |
| Motörhead – Nightmare/The Dreamtime Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
Here are the backwards phrases: the opening part isn't actually backwards ;-) "In a [siggals?] throughout. You poor, stupid, running dogs. Why is it...[that?]..." "Now tell me about your miserable little lives [lies?]. I do not subscribe to your superstitious, narrow-minded rights [lights?] of paranoia. I, and the people like me, will always prevail. You will never stifle free speech in any country in the world because we [He?] will die for us." |
|
| KISS – Goin' Blind Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| It's insanely symbolic, guys. He's ignoring symbols by "going blind". | |
| Megadeth – Psychotron Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I'm pretty sure this is along the same lines as "Psychosocial" by Slipknot. | |
| Gordon Lightfoot – Race Among the Ruins Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I don't think this song is about a mental illness. To me, it's just about growing up ("when you wake up") and looking at those around you who haven't yet figured their lives out. Finding love can be hard, especially with mistakes like one night stands ("who by the magic of the moment were mysteriously undone"). Some figure it out sooner than others, and all you can do once you've figured it out is to enjoy it while you're still alive. I'm not quite sure about the jester and the clown part. Maybe how the clown becomes the jester for other clowns... dunno about that one. |

| Black Label Society – Blacked Out World Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Uhh... oops.. thought the comments were going in reversed order. | |
| Black Label Society – Blacked Out World Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| The Internet isn't a party ;-) | |
| Black Label Society – Blacked Out World Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song I have trouble understanding. I mean, I understand the distorted mirrors part, and how they can lead the depressed to suicide. But what I do not understand is WHY he says "commit your final suicide". I can't agree with that. I mean, what if some depressed idiotic kid listens to it? Very irresponsible. And yes, this is very different from songs like "Mass Murder Machine". |
|
| ZZ Top – Hummbucking Part 2 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Where's Part 1? heh It's obviously sex related.. part 2 being the next step. |
|
| Aerosmith – Fallen Angels Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song is probably as simple as Steven Tyler seducing some emotionally scarred women into having sex with him. Fallen angels go to hell. |
|
| The Monotones – Book Of Love Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Satan wrote the book. | |
| AC/DC – Givin the Dog a Bone Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| cusefan15, you're a moron :P | |
| Damageplan – Moment Of Truth Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| One of Dimebag's finest. For many people, it's too slow. I find it really really powerful and uplifting. It's basically about personal triumph. | |
| Metallica – Devil's Dance Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I have a different view on this song... You might call me insane, but who cares.. James says "seeds I plant will grow" and "one day you will see and dare to come down to me" to "dance". Basically means that all the evil (snake) lyrics he's written are seeds planted in our minds that when bloomed, we will be forced to make a decision; agree, or disagree. If we disagree, who has the balls to face him? Good riff. |
|
| Pantera – 13 Steps To Nowhere Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| let it be known that 11, 12 and 13 are really just bullshit... 10 is the real winner as it's the rictar scale. Giving 110% is just an expression. | |
| Pantera – 13 Steps To Nowhere Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
10 == dime 7 == luck 7/11 == luck beats 10 when drunk (10+1) 12 == always higher than 11 13 == friday the 13th.. aka "weird"... people fear 13. being weird, or something that should not be, leads to nowhere. |
|
| Black Label Society – Final Solution Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Or maybe it's telling someone who's depressed to kill themselves... lol | |
| Symphony X – Smoke and Mirrors Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| To me it's about the "machine". We all believe that life is great and everyone is a good perosn, but it's all a lie. Everyone cons each other and steal other's work in order to reach their material desires. Then they turn around and think that no one will do it to them and they're the only ones who think that way. They don't realize that everyone is a magician (using smoke and mirrors to make people disappear, etc). | |
| Children of Bodom – We're Not Gonan Fall Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
The lines: Well you thought you had the authority To slay and kill the minority ..might very well be kudos to NWA's "Fuck Tha Police" when they say: They have the authority to kill a minority |
|
| Black Label Society – Heart of Gold (Neil Young cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Also, you have a lot of mistakes in these lyrics. I just noticed now. | |
| Black Label Society – Heart of Gold (Neil Young cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Actually, Zakk changes some of the lyrics in this cover. The third line is "reflections" and not "expressions". Towards the end, it sounds as though he says "promise road" instead of "heart of gold" in the chorus. |
|
| Guns N' Roses – Knockin' on Heaven's Door Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| To me, it's about the "game". GIving up on "shooting" people with nerves of steel. He's sick of fighting and lieing his ass off just to get a piece of ass or to have a list of untrue friends to call. It feels like he's just asking for death. | |
| Pantera – Avoid the Light Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Old people like the shade and they avoid the light. Heh, I don't know if it has a serious meaning. I think it's just a song to go along with the movie. | |
| Pantera – D*G*T*T*M Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| On the DimeVision DVD, there's a video to go along with this rather short instrumental. It's there that its definition is revealed - "Dime Goes To The Movies". | |
| Symphony X – A Fool's Paradise Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's basically about how Earth is a paradise for the blind. Constantly destroying ourselves and fighting to survive our hell. And the only way out is to listen to the voice that we hear- our conscience. Unfortunately, we're taught to fear it as insanity. | |
| Pantera – War Nerve Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This is about everyone who hates him simply because he's alive. Fuck everyone. Ignore hate. | |
| Creed – Are You Ready? Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
A lot of people told me that they don't like this song because "it's too slow". Well, anyway... To me, this song is about moving on with your life. Mr Seeker is a man looking for love. The lead singer of Creed is married and has children, hence "human clay". Humans were created from clay according to Buddhist beliefs. As for the Mr Hero bit, I think it means that everyone analyzes (under the microscope) heroes since everyone wants to be one. After everyone screws them over, the only thing left is their family. Great song. And no, it's not too slow. Slow songs are harder to write, anyway. |
|
| Pantera – By Demons Be Driven Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The 6th dimensional understanding is from Buddhism. | |
| Black Label Society – What's In You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think it's about how people might think Zakk is crazy- like Manson was after hearing the Beatles' song "Helter Skelter"- because he feels the apocalypse is near. | |
| Black Label Society – Too Tough To Die Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| True strength comes from believing that you can never be God, and not fearing death because you know where you'll end up- if you lived right, that is. | |
| Black Label Society – Been a Long Time Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| As I'm writing this comment, Mafia is their most recent album, and it is the most up-beat in their discography. So, I think this song means it's been a long time since he's felt proud and truly happy. | |
| Black Label Society – Say What You Will Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think it's about how "heavy music [was] dead and gone" (Phillip Anselmo), but has recently risen again. | |
| Black Label Society – The Blessed Hellride Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I dunno if "high" refers to being high off drugs or not. Maybe it just means sitting on a high horse of arrogance. You can never be more of a lowlife when you think you're above everyone. |
|
| Black Label Society – Final Solution Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It kinda sounds like he's speaking to someone. Telling them to end the world? | |
| Steve Vai – For the Love of God Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
If you watch the video, you'd see that the song's about all the horrible things the human race has wrongly done to deserve God's love. However, in the video, the end line is changed to "We may be human, but we are still animals." Really, the meaning is the same. Not matter how hard we try to better ourselves with actions and beliefs, we are still animals. And no matter how hard we try to believe or disbelieve in a higher power, we always walk the line and run in circles. |
|
| Rage Against the Machine – Take The Power Back Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The weather man part is a joke. About how people say you need to get your life together by going to school. Learn your shit like the weather man... the guy who can't even predict what he was educated to understand. | |
| Rage Against the Machine – Take The Power Back Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The weather man part is a joke. About how people say you need to get your life together by going to school. Learn your shit like the weather man... the guy who can't even predict what he was educated to understand. | |
| Black Label Society – Spoke In The Wheel Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| ... | |
| Slayer – Jesus Saves Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
The only comment worth reading is the one by animal_house210. I'm Catholic. I don't go to church. I balance the good and bad in me by my actions, not by merely saying "I'm sorry and can't do anything about it because I'm a pussy". |
|
| Black Label Society – Phoney Smiles & Fake Hellos Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Oops, "genius". Something I am with spelling. | |
| Black Label Society – Phoney Smiles & Fake Hellos Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I just realized something else. He's putting down the retards of the society, and just when they might say "what the fuck do you know??", he whips out a solo and says "that's right, I'm a genious". Awesome :) | |
| Megadeth – Symphony of Destruction Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I agree it's about the Antichrist. I don't really care if Mustaine said it means something else, because sometimes they say that to hide the true meaning. That way, those who deserve to know the true meaning, discover it themselves. Believe what you want, though. | |
| Metallica – Invisible Kid Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I can relate to the kid in this story a lot. I'm guessing it's about Kirk because guitarists (like myself) are often quiet and somewhat anti-social at times. But we have confidence and can light up a room when we want to... with or without our instruments. The kid's invisible because no one notices him. He was probably outcasted and has since learned to love the silence, much like an old man would. "Got stuck where he did" - stunted his personality growth at the age he became invisible, but don't confuse that with maturity "Inward he's grown" - he knows himself "Suspicious of your touch" - paranoid because he trusts no one, probably cuz he sees through their lies (not a game player)... I doubt it has to do with child abuse |
|
| Megadeth – Victory Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
It's not nonsense. He's talking about the history of Megadeth and his "victory" that came with it. He's talking to US, not Metallica. He's telling us that while he is the image of success in the eyes who don't know what life is about. He is rich and famous, but he isn't a victory. He's saying that he's really lost because he's doing heroin. Sarcasm, people! Learn it. |
|
| Megadeth – 99 Ways To Die Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
It's a joke. 99 bottles of beer on the wall... 99 ways to die. "If I see the morning hours, I'll have one more yesterday. Take life from tomorrow, Cause I've burned out my today. If I get up to the top I know, I'll just go back downhill." Hungover morning, and another one tomorrow. Alcoholism. |
|
| Megadeth – A Secret Place Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
He may also be talking about schizophrenia when he says "I hear them shout". He went inside his head to his secret place and he probably started hearing voices, maybe eventually becoming visual hallucinations. Now they won't go away. The personalities created with schizophrenia are really just pieces of yourself. Dave must've found his lost soul by realizing that he'd broken himself. That's what I got from the song, anyway. |
|
| Pantera – By Demons Be Driven Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| the above lyrics mentioned are from this song, not Floods... I failed to mention that | |
| Pantera – By Demons Be Driven Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Heh, Phil is religious. Notice how the next track on this album has the line "Mad at God"? Also, Read the lyrics to "Floods". The lyrics: "With decline in mind End not far" - means if you don't believe in God, hell awaits.. "We're left hanging alone here He pulls us from nails Shatters our bones Leaving us crippled and strewn Boiling my corpse in the blood of his children" - what hell is like "Praying for his god to prevail Burying us with loved ones To sleep with shelled children of the sixth dimension" - believing in God will save you and send you to the dimension of Truth (6th dimension).. in other words, you'll know the truth.. "the truth will set you free" sound familiar? Pantera has many mentions of God in their songs. Don't just look at the song titles. Most metal is, in fact, Christian. Open your eyes. If you don't like it, listen to rap. |
|
| Pantera – Psycho Holiday Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This song's about psychopaths, of the insensitive pathological liar kind. The guys who are quick to make fun of someone in a serious manner, then rant on about a trip he took to another country and had "one woman here another there". They tell everyone this story and can't tell the difference between strangers and their best friends because they betray everyone. | |
