| Bon Jovi – Because We Can Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Great song!! About refusing to go along with the flow of life anymore. Refusing to follow the masses and go through the motions in life and relationships anymore. First verse about a lonely wife in the kitchen once again, reminiscing about when she used to get those "technicolor kisses" from her husband. While he stares in the mirror and hates himself for letting the relationship turn so bad and stale. He realises that the promise he made her of forever has failed and now he says he'll never let her doen again. Love the next verse where they are having take-out for dinner, probably because they are too exhausted from their working day to make anything. Paper dishes aswell so they don't have to wash up. Then for a moment everything is alright. I love that lyric, for a moment everything is alright. Every damaged or couple just holding on have that little moments of things being alright. But they know it's all in vain. |

| Bon Jovi – When We Were Beautiful Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Brilliant song. So powerful. About a couple who are so broken. Can they re-build their fractured relationship and "go back and find it." Everyone has been in a relationship that has turned so south and sour but they can't let go of that hope of things going back to the way it was before. |
| Bon Jovi – (You Want To) Make A Memory Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Great song. About meeting up with an old flame and having memories and old feelings come back and rush over you. Maybe they realise they can't or shouldn't be together again but they have a mutual feeling of making one last memory together before they part ways again to their current lives and partners. |

| Bon Jovi – Whole Lot Of Leavin' Lyrics | 11 years ago |
kait25 is correct. Jon did write this for Richie and those horrible things he was going through. I love this song. Terrific lyrics and foot tapping beat. "I close my eyes and picture you're hand in mine. I still hear your voice, it takes me back to that time." I love that lyric. |
| Bruce Springsteen – Frankie Fell in Love Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I love the vibe of this song!! Sort of a small town/everyone knows each-other vibe. To me , Frankie is that girl who everyone has known and loved since she was a kid and is the sort of person who has always done everything for others and never chased her own happiness. But now she finally caved in and has met a guy and is now finally in love!! And the rest of town is rejoicing and over the moon that "their" Frankie has found someone and is doing something for herself finally. |

| Bruce Springsteen – Down in the Hole Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Yep, definitely another brilliant 9/11 song from Bruce. A volunteer at Ground Zero searching for his love everyday. Heartbreaking. I guess he left this off "The Rising" because he felt it already contained enough 9/11 songs. Particularly about losing a loved one....."Nothing Man", "Into The Fire", "Empty Sky", "You're Missing". |
| Bruce Springsteen – Long Walk Home Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree with constable. About a man coming home after possibly serving his country to find things have changed. Feeling cheated and used. Springsteen, the greatest. |
| Bruce Springsteen – Gypsy Biker Lyrics | 18 years ago |
magicrat34, as Meat Loaf once said "You Took The Words Right Out Of MY Mouth". Perfectly summed up. This is the best track on "Magic". Tears and goosebumps everytime. Brilliant. Springsteen, the greatest. |
| Bobby Darin – Mack the Knife Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I always thought it was about a ruthless gangster. The part "Where a cement bag’s just a'droopin' on down Oh, that cement is just, it's there for the weight, dear" used to make me remember all those mafia flicks etc, where they would tie a bag of cement to the person and drop them in the water. Also, the Louie Miller character makes me think of an employee or snitch etc, who's ripped off Mackie the gangster. But you guys have obviously researched, but thats what I always thought anyway. springsteen: the greatest |

| Mötley Crüe – Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
A brilliant song. Nikki has always been under-rated as a writer. A song about two youngsters agreeing its best to go their own "separate paths, seperate ways". As they say, they were too young to fall in love anyway. There is no song like this, the second verse is brilliant. How good is the title!!!!! springsteen: the greatest |
| Bruce Springsteen – Glory Days Lyrics | 20 years ago |
One of Bruce's more boppier and cheesier songs of the U.S.A album. But lyrically, its vintage Bruce. Who doesn't get sad and depressed when they look back at the best times or certain times of their lives?? I'm only 22 and get sad when I play this. Brilliant song. springsteen: the greatest |
| Bruce Springsteen – Galveston Bay Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I rate this in Bruce's top 5. This just breaks your heart. Story of a Vietnamese soldier coming to America. Racism and prejudice in the wake of the war. Will Billy kill a man who's just like him: Fought in the war when he probably didn't want to. Kisses his child good-bye every morning. In the end, Billy just can't bring himself to do it. One of the songs ever written. springsteen: the greatest |
| Bruce Springsteen – Downbound Train Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Very sad Bruce classic. Sort of a ballad but still has the vintage Bruce working-class life to it. It makes it even more sadder. springsteen: the greatest |
| Bruce Springsteen – Darlington County Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Great story of two buddies leaving home for work. One of their uncles hooked them up. The second verse is brilliant. These young naive cocky guys on the town with what they think is alot of money. But it doesn't go according to plan. One buddy let's the other one down. He gets arrested for unknown reasons as his mate drives out of Darlington County. springsteen: the greatest |

| Bon Jovi – Always Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Jon said that he wrote this from a stalker's perspective to fool all you ballad loving idiots. It's true, he says that on the 'This left feels right' DVD. It's a disturbing song when you actually know what it means, which none of you Jovi "fans" do. springsteen: the greatest |

| Bruce Springsteen – Born in the U.S.A. Lyrics | 20 years ago |

No point commenting on this heart-breaking classic. The true fans know what it means. springsteen: the greatest |
| Bruce Springsteen – Blinded By The Light Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Springsteen explains it on the Storytellers DVD. He sat down on his bed with a rhyming dictionary and wrote this brilliant autobiographical song. I remember the Indians were the baseball team he played with growing up(no pun intended). "Some silicone sister with her manager's mister told me I got what it takes She said I'll turn you on sonny to something strong if you play that song with the funky break" refers to the studio not releasing the album until they thought he had a hit. So he wrote this in pure frustration. That's the true story. springsteen: the greatest |
| Bruce Springsteen – Atlantic City Lyrics | 20 years ago |
This is about when the gold rush of casino's and gambling struck America, and organised crime muscling it's way into it. The protagonist is trying his best to stay on track and stay honest but in the end he meets "this guy and I'm gonna do a little favor for him". springsteen: the greatest |
| Bruce Springsteen – The River Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Bruce is the greatest. How beautifully sad is this?? About Bruce's sister and brother in-law. About life taking everything away from you and accepting responsibility when you're really just a kid. Undeniable proof that Bruce is the greatest writer of all-time. springsteen: the greatest |
| Bruce Springsteen – Streets of Philadelphia Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Freakin' heart-breaking my friends. I read an interview with my idol where he said that this song can be about an AIDS sufferer or a man who has given up on life. He said it's better for us to decide which one affects us more. springsteen: the greatest |
| Bruce Springsteen – Nebraska Lyrics | 20 years ago |

No-one can write songs like Bruce. NO-ONE. Dylan is the closest. springsteen: the greatest |
| Bruce Springsteen – Long Time Comin' Lyrics | 20 years ago |
One of the best tracks off the new album. It's a tale of a no good father wanting a second chance and determined to make things right. Determined not to be like his own father anymore. The last verse just hammers me. springsteen: the greatest |
| Bruce Springsteen – Empty Sky Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Definitely a 9/11 heartbreaker. He has a better 9/11 track called "You're Missing". Breaks your heart when the violins kick in. springsteen: the greatest |
| Bruce Springsteen – Hungry Heart Lyrics | 20 years ago |
One of the great one's more boppier\radio songs, but still vintage Bruce lyrics wise. He did write it for the Ramones but his manager saw it as a chance to break into the mainstream. springsteen: the greatest |
| Bon Jovi – Who Says You Can't Go Home? Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Best track on the average Have a Nice Day album. About returning home when you couldn't wait to leave years before. Nice song. springsteen: the greatest |
| Bon Jovi – Wanted Dead or Alive Lyrics | 20 years ago |
What a classic Jovi track. I know it is about when they were a struggling bar band playing around Jersey. Lyrically brilliant. springsteen: the greatest |
| Billy Joel – Piano Man Lyrics | 20 years ago |
What a classic. Sad song about a talented musician who probably never get out of the bar\club scene for the rest of his time. "Yes, they're sharing a drink they call loneliness But it's better than drinkin' alone" Heart-breaking. springsteen: the greatest |
| Bruce Springsteen – Darkness on the Edge of Town Lyrics | 20 years ago |
The man has lost what he loves, doing what he loves. Painful irony. If you really read the lyrics, it seems he's not all that upset about losing his wife. Maybe she was second on his list. But he still wants to see her if she wants. Brilliant stuff from my idol Bruce. springsteen: the greatest |
| Bruce Springsteen – The Hitter Lyrics | 20 years ago |
How frikkin' good is my idol Bruce?? If this doesn't convince you, you're a lost cause. What a tale about a fighter who once fought legally but now illegally and things he went through. Now he just wants to lie down in Mama's house. Absolutely brilliant. springsteen: the greatest |
| Bruce Springsteen – Racing in the Street Lyrics | 20 years ago |
What a brilliant tale. About doing what you love and how it affects those close to you. It's all in the details - "I got a sixty-nine Chevy with a 396, Fuelie heads and a Hurst on the floor She's waiting tonight down in the parking lot Outside the Seven-Eleven store" Just brilliantly sad track. Check out it's unofficial sequel "Darkness on the Edge of Town" springsteen: the greatest |

| Bon Jovi – Joey Lyrics | 20 years ago |

This is definitely one of Jovi's best. A brilliant story of friendship and loyalty no matter what. They're always criticised but I think under-rated as writers. Always have been. springsteen: the greatest |

| Creedence Clearwater Revival – The Midnight Special Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Teriffic song. I always thought that he was not far from execution(because they always happen at midnight). And Rosie is still trying to stop it. No mention of a train, where did you hear that?? springsteen: the greatest |
| Creedence Clearwater Revival – Lodi Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Great song. This is the original failed musician song and the best. "If I only had a dollar For ev´ry song I´ve sung And ev´ry time I had to play While people sat there drunk" Brilliant stuff. This theme has been ripped off countless times. The most recent that comes to mind is 'Bright Lights' by MB 20. More or less a rip off. springsteen: the greatest |
| Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Eddie Vedder, you must be kidding me!!! That guy is pathetic. You tell me to "feel the words" when you listen to songs like 'Spin the black circle', 'who you are'. Mate, i'm all about lyrics, you obviously aren't. You're only interested on what's popular and cool. You've got nothing. |
| Bruce Springsteen – Factory Lyrics | 20 years ago |

This, to me, is heart-breaking. I seen my father do this all my life. Still do. I'll probably do it all my life too. Poetry. Springsteen: the greatest |

| Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics | 20 years ago |
The most over-rated song of all time. I'm all about lyrics, and this is just undechiperable gibberish. All you supposed fans can't even explain it. What the hell is about???? lucky19 is the only person with a logical explanation. Why don't you all start listening to music with meaning. springsteen: the greatest |
| Bruce Springsteen – Bobby Jean Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Yes this was inspired by Van Zandt leaving the band. But it has so much meaning for different people. It could be a girlfriend, girlfriend who's just a friend or a buddy. For me, it is true for a buddy of mine. Springsteen, the greatest. |
| Bruce Springsteen – Adam Raised a Cain Lyrics | 20 years ago |
One of Bruce's most autobiographical song's about returning home and seeing his Father, who Bruce never got along with. How good are the lines "In the darkness of your room, your mother calls you by your true name" "Daddy worked his whole life for nothing but the pain Now he walks these empty rooms looking for something to blame" Once again, Bruce proving he is the greatest song-writer of all time. |
