| K'naan – Fatima Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This song seems to be about a girl with whom K'naan feel in love with at a young age back in Somalia. Their young love however was cut short when she was killed by militants of the civil war going on. | |
| Slightly Stoopid – Round the World Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Such a dope song, but these lyrics are wrong. As they are on every other website. As far as I can tell, these are the right lyrics: All round the world I'm seeing all them pretty girls Only one I need and only thing that I been thinking 'bout Is you girl, you, yeah, you girl yeah, yeah Only fantasy and only one I want to see Only thing I want, only one that keeps me holding on Is you Always on my mind, at any place, at any time Girl, why you so fine control the rhythm of my heart And this is you girl, you, yeah, you girl, yeah, yeah Feel you in my soul, it is my heart that you can know Look into your eyes are more than diamonds, more then gold I need you, girl it is is you Hotter than hand grenade or anything I've ever seen Sexier than all the girls in all the magazines And that's true girl, you, yeah, cool, yeah Sharper than a razor blade but still be burning weed Blazing on the freeway doing more than eighty three And that's cool Favorite place to go, is any place that we's alone Smelling finer than them ocean got me putting down my phone And that's cool girl, you, yeah, cool, yeah, you, yeah Hotter with the weather, love is harder than a stone Anywhere we come together we can call it home And that's you, girl it is you |

| Winds Of Plague – The Impaler Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This man's got it right, to an extent. The video's just ripping on all videos that have that rap-video-filmed-at-a-strip-club theme to them. | |
| Winds Of Plague – Reloaded Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It's kinda supposed to be like that. Have you ever seen their video for 'The Impaler.' It's a giant spoof of the multitudes of rap videos that are shot in clubs and shit. I'll admit, I wasn't a fan of the whole 'bro vocals' thing (which is what you're referring to is called) and still could totally live without it, but it's them, and they're fucking epic, and it wouldn't be them without it. | |
| Sublime – Hope Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| People say this version sucks? They recorded it as a tribute to the song you all know and love. They didn't "put it in their own style" because Brad was a HUGE fan of punk rock. go figure he'd play a few covers that way. | |
| Sublime – Santeria Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Best. Song. Ever. Don't care what anyone has to say about it or Sublime or people who heal the nation, this song is beautiful. I really compare it to Moonlight Sonata in terms of beauty. And if you don't know yet, for some reason, this song's about a cheatin girlfriend and the guy she did it with. Bradley talks about how he's gonna fuck him up if he ever sees him, but also that he's gonna move on. Peace and love, people. |
|
| Sublime – What I Got Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is one of my favorite Sublime songs. I truly love Sublime, they are what I would want to be musically. It makes me really sad that all sorts of kids today like Sublime because they smoke pot and think stoners are supposed to listen to them.I know a lot of people who rip on this song for being "too commercial" or saying that this was like a "sell-out song". People, it's a "cover" of a Half-Pint song. The song is amazing, it's popular for a reason. I wish everyone would just chill out around me, and live how Brad would have wanted it. | |
| Sublime – Get Ready Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Love this song and the KRS ONE samples! This song's heavy. "Let the bassline drop as loud as we can stand" |

| Damian Marley – Welcome to Jamrock Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| "Funnyman", a rough Jamaican equivalent of "faggot" in America, is on the original pressings of the album, and is removed on subsequent releases. Live, he often replaces it with Babylonian. I feel that when he originally wrote it, he was using the term to bring awareness to the situation in Jamaica. I know he didn't have a lot of time with his father, but I am certain that his older brothers passed on Bob's idea of loving everyone to Junior Gong. I'd guess that the reason it was removed was because recently, a lot of Jamaican dancehall singers started getting a lot of heat for their hateful lyrics (Bounty Killer, Elephant Man, Sizzla, among others). He probably realized the magnitude of what could happen if he, the son of Bob Marley, was thought to hate gay people. I mean, he even has Bounty Killer as a guest on this album (Khaki Suit). Regardless, this song is brilliant. It helps to show the true Jamaica. It's like Bob's earlier works, albeit in much more direct terms, even though most people don't listen hard enough to understand the lyrics. | |
| Peter Tosh – Legalize It Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| When I wake up in the morning, and I cough, nothing gets cleared out. It continues like that, with nothing getting cleared out until I take of hit of ganja. It definitely helps my asthma. | |
| The Last Goodnight – Pictures of You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This is not my kind of music, first and foremost, but when I heard this song I cried. I head it on an old friend's MySpace page and I no longer speak with this girl and it just struck a chord with me. I think it's just about knowing what could have been. I mean, it's right there in the lyrics, so it's not a very deep interpretation....but that's what it feels like to me. | |
| Slightly Stoopid – Wiseman Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think that the wiseman is someone who can laugh at himself and relize that he can mess up and isn't perfect. The other guy is too full of himself. | |
| Rancid – Otherside Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This is a punk rock song that fucking damn near makes me cry...so much emotion, such a moving tribute. | |
| Rancid – Red Hot Moon Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Fuck people who don't like Indestructible. I didn't get into Rancid because of a certain CD, I got into them really through my girlfriend. The shit on Indestructible is just as good as anything. | |
| Rancid – Time Bomb Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I read somewhere that it was about the kinda kids who listen to the ska-esque music that this song is played in, particularly a friend of theirs, who I think was murdered. But i can't remember where I read that. |
|
| Rancid – Cocktails Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I think it's "She vexes them to confuse them" That's what it sounds like to me. |
|
| Rancid – Maxwell Murder Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Tonight, Matt just kept going with the solo. It went on for about 5 or six minutes. Pure fucking genius. I personally don't use a pick, but if I did, I'd kill to be Matt... | |
| Rancid – Fall Back Down Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Yeah, if they wanted to really sell out they would've joined a major label when people were offering them millions just to join them. Yeah, this song has a lot of douchebags in the video. But I mean, Tim's really good friends with Billy Joe Armstrong. Oh well. Song kicks ass, so good live. | |
| Sublime – Boss DJ Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Yeah, this song is about how heroin is a part of him, but not the biggest part of him, and how he feels he can best convey himself to other when playing music. But, at the same time, he can't stop the heroin addiction, and parts of him don't want it to stop, possibly due to a feeling of inferiority without the drug. | |
| Sublime – STP Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song is obviously about meth, and probably in some ways his relationship with people. He can't leave because the speed has him so paranoid that he thinks everyone is out to get him, but where he is, he has everything he needs. The slow part is about the things he and other people do at his Secret Tweaker Pad. Regrip is probably some kinda LBC slang for get more _____(whatever drug). When people are tweakin out, they become very easily occupied by mindless tasks, such as crossword puzzles, and doing work on shit, like his car or whatever. Then the faster part is about some chick jacked him of his last clean needle and other paraphernalia, and he's pissed. Then there's a bunch of people suddenly showing up at his STP, and he's trying to tell them to chill, and get out, because he doesn't want trouble from the cops, reminiscent of the song "Get Out" of 40 oz. |
|
| Ben Harper – Burn One Down Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"herb the gift from the earth and what's from the earth is of the greatest worth so before you knock it try it first you'll see it's a blessing and not a curse" C'mon. What else could that be about. Maybe it's religion. But I know a lot of people who say to try pot before you knock it. Also, "burning one down" is a term I use for smoking a j a lot. Maybe he's just saying something that sounds druggie, but isn't, Like Dylan's "Rainy Day Woman #12 & #45" |
|
| Ziggy Marley – Love Is My Religion Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
The lyrics "I don't want o fight. Hey, let's go fly a kite." Those right there get me everytime. |
|
| Slightly Stoopid – Mexico Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song makes me want to get out of Missouri like nothing else. | |
| Slightly Stoopid – 2 am Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Yeah, but cape is right. You can grow all plants, and not get busted with IR if you just turn the lights on during the day, because the IR cams on the helis don't work for shit during the day, and they can fly over you at night and not see a thing. |
|
| Slightly Stoopid – Fat Spliffs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song just sounds better in the summer...heady fucking rhyme... | |
| Slightly Stoopid – Mellow Mood Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Possibly one of the greatest love songs, or just songs in general, ever written. No bullshit. |
|
| Slightly Stoopid – Collie Man Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is, in my opinion, about how life is rough, but a smoke'll chill him out, and he'll get through it no problem, only his dealer (Collie Man) keeps hitting him up without having any herb. I've also heard that this song s about his uncle, who used to sell him weed or something..I dunno... | |
| Slightly Stoopid – Older Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Don't be a ho. At least not while you're really young. |
|
| Slightly Stoopid – Runnin' With a Gun Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Remind anyone of UB40's "Johnny Too Bad"? | |
| Peter Tosh – Stepping Razor Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I concur. | |
| Peter Tosh – Whatcha Gonna Do Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This is one if the best songs ever. It's really true and poignant. | |
| Sublime – DJ's Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Dj, in this sense, as much as other people will tell you, is not "dope junkies". IN reggae and rasta culture, the DJ is the equivalent of MC. DJ's do the singing, not the turn-tabling. | |
| Uncle Kracker – Follow Me Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I've heard it's about heroin. But it also is about a guy convincing this chick that it's ok to cheat. | |
| Sublime – What I Got Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love how he sings the solo to himself while playing it. | |
| DragonForce – Through the Fire and Flames Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Yes, their songs aren't based on aynthing in particular, i.e, they didn't have any intentinal meanings, but people will find their own meaning in a song. To me, this song is about not letting yourself down, and keeping the strength to go on with your life, no matter what. | |
| Foghat – Slow Ride Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Drugs. That is what this song is about. Roll all night. Ecstasy. But that might be wrong. But when you're high, you usuall are driving really slow, and it can be relaxing and shit. But I think it is just about drugs in general. | |
| The Who – Behind Blue Eyes Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think it's just about someone wanting to show feelings for something/someone that they can't. Whether or not it's about homosexuality is open for individual interperetation. | |
| The Who – Won't Get Fooled Again Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I read that this song alludes to Animal Farm. Which makes sense, as this is about revolutions, much like that. | |
| AFI – Miss Murder Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I dunno about this song. I really don't like it a whole lot. Kinda gay/whiny/emo/pussy, IMO. But, i just saw the video. Anyone notice how the lead singer had a very Hitler-esque aura about him...standing up on top of that wall or whatever it was, waving his arms about, and all the people cheering at him. It's like they're Nazis. | |
| Gorillaz – Feel Good Inc. Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Aside from one line, I am not sure, but this line "With yo sound You kill the INC. " make me kinda think that it is about drugs. This line just reminds me of how certain things (certain types of music, for instance) can killm the buzz/high, and while you are buzzed/high, you Feel Good, so...yeah. That's what i think. |
|
| The J. Geils Band – Centerfold Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
THis song is pretty funny. I know that there is a chance that something like this may happen to me some day, as all the chicks I know are basically "promiscuous" right now anyway. But, anyway a good song all round, and it is pretty straightforward as to what it means. Oh, and this song shouyld really wmake you want to dance.... |
|
| DragonForce – Through the Fire and Flames Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Well, yes. Their songs are based on things. All songs are. There are metaphoical elements to it. They are trying to get a point across. Just because they are an epic power metal band, doens't mean the lyrics have ntohing to od with anything. | |
| DragonForce – Through the Fire and Flames Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Oh, also, this is for geeks out there, who play World of Warcraft. Come one, raiding/Alterac Valley song or what? Heh. | |
| DragonForce – Through the Fire and Flames Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Ok, first I must comment on the insane musical quality of this song. It is beautiful in every way imagineable. The vocals are amazing, and the guitarists melt faces. he drums blast with such precision....oh god. Now, onto What I think that it means. It is obviously (to me, at least) about not letting things get in between you and your dreams, whatever they may be. This is specifically set to a fantasy/battle quest setting. I have also heard somewhere that their songs are written from the veiw of a Dragon, but I think that that is just for some of them. But yeah, I am pretty sure that this song is about overcoming obstacle. And I am very sure that it kicks ass. |

| Tool – Schism Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Okay, i know no one will ever read this, but this is my take on it: Not only is there the "obvious" yet "underlying" ( I know it is a contradiction in terms, but it is the best way to describe it) of the Chruch's splitting. But I think that it ialso has a more musical connotation. I was just doing some research on the Pythagorean theorem (I am a loser, I know) and I came across Pyhtagorean Tuning. It sparked my interest, and i looked clicked the link. It took me to a page about how Pyhtagorean Comma (or Pythagorean tuning) is based on the idea that "when one ascends by a cycle of justly tuned perfect fifths (ratio 3:2), leapfrogging 12 times, one eventually reaches a note around seven octaves above the note one started on, which, when lowered to the same octave as the starting point, is (a very small amount over) 23.46 cents higher than the initial note. This interval, 531441:524288 or exactly 1.0136432647705078125:1, is called a Pythagorean comma" (WIKI) I know that is a bunch of jibberish to most of you, but it is basically just about perfect fifths, yet jumping around from one to another. Anyway, at the bottom of the page, it said, "See also Pythagorean Tuning and schisma" I clicked on the schisma, as I thought, "Hey, that is ridiculously similar to the song Schism." The page then had some more technical talk about musical tuning and theory then any of you will ever care to know, most likely. Anyway, I think that it may be possible that this song either uses elemts of Pythagorean tuning, or is just a reference to it, in some ways. If you wish to read more (haha) oin this, here are the links to my sources...: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pythagorean_comma http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schisma There you have it. My take on a possible, yet improbable meaning to the name of the song. A distant homage to something not really anyone has heard of, heh heh. |

| System of a Down – Kill Rock 'n' Roll Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
i agree with what The Antipop said, it makes sense..."Eat all the grass… Eat all the grass… that you want Accidents happen in the dark" I mean, im not sure, but the "accident" could have happened at night, couldn't it? and rabbits eat grass, so it COULD be about a bunny. or it may be a doulbe entendre about the rabbit and somehting else. dont know what else though. DARON HAS A KICKASS VOICE BACKUP OR LEAD!!!!! |
|
| System of a Down – Jet Pilot Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| ok, i was looking up SOAD song meanings a while ago, and i found an interview, in which serj and daron explain the meanings of the songs off of "Toxicity". Now, unfortunately, the site has since been eliminated, seeing as it was just an article. But here is what Daron had to say (paraphrased) while he explained Jet Pilot: (I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP< BTW. beliive me if you want) THere was an old horse who lived on a farm. The horses name was Otis. He always looked longingly at the lake(bay), and wondered what it would be like to see the lake from above. For years he longingly imagined seeing it. he thought he would die wondering what it would be like, and was upset(remorsefulness) and one day, while he was grazing, a jet flew over head, and he looked into the cockpit, and saw the reflection in the pilot's goggles, thusly seeing the lake(bay) thru the eyes of the jet pilot. Ya, kinda trippy, but if you consider the fact tat it was probably written in a pot-filled house, by SOAD, nonetheless, it can make sense. again, believe me or not, that is what they said... | |
