| A Silver Mt. Zion – Black Waters Blowed/Engine Broke Blues Lyrics

I have to say, that as much as I love the upped guitar role, I am really sad to see the strings reduced so much. I think it would have sounded so awesome with the strings as prominent as they usually are. The whole album could've benefited from that.
Just my opinion though. |

Maybe "pills stop you" refers to medication stabilizing a mood disorder/major depressive disorder... ? Stops a person from feeling the extreme highs and lows. Falls into a care center ("home")? |

Good grief, let's develop some compassion and patience for each other... I think the lyrics describe very well how a siren would cause that kind of circular reasoning, as you crash your Nordic ship into a cliff. Poor sailors... |

I think this is the most beautiful apocalyptic love song I will ever hear. Good grief. I think it's an allegory about whether you want love and peace or war and desolation. |

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. It explains the feeling of bliss that comes from a superb relationship, like a life-long marriage gone wonderful. |

Agreed. I think every man has to come to the realization that they get "lonely in all the moments in between" her "running home" to them. "Every whisper sounds like a song that says, I've never felt this way before," how true that can be, nature too. |

I think this song is about spending one of those magical (like a unicorn? ha) evenings of love, you know, maybe some sort of a reference to love being so obvious on the body of a lover. The cold sunrise is the end of something unique and peaked. Just a thought |

| Papercuts – John Brown Lyrics

It interests me that John Brown is painted as such a villain, he definitely could be what some historians say he was, but we still venerate the likes of Robert E. Lee as hero and representative of the people's cause, when Lee was a racist. He led the forces of one of the most greed-infected people's of the ages, people for cash. John Brown, though his methods were extreme, fits the idea of America better than Robert E. Lee, in my mind. |

This song fits the end of "Dark Days" so perfectly. The rebirth of homeless drug addicts into society. Pretty literal in my view. |

Wow... I found a performance of this on archive.org and it blew my mind. I really think the line "some hearts are true" is a straight forward statement that though many complex systems fail us often, we still can find the few, and that number grows in response to corruption, in our midst. |

I suppose that being his cousin to the third degree he has told you the underlying motives behind the events of May 4th. You know, why he would get married if...well I suppose it wouldn't make sense even if you tried to explain it. |

This song is about breaking into people's homes and taking their stuff, but he's sad because McDonald's stopped doing Super Size. Whatever! It's also about the Royal Tenanbaums, when Richie slits his wrists because his sister/love is sleeping with his friend. |

The title is math. Rob Crow worked at an Arby's in SanDiego and that's where all the lines about boredom, crosswords and penny dreadfuls, and the freezing comment is about the cooler where Arby's keeps all their curly fries and whatnot, the fans in there are really loud and it's cold. Rob's manager once dared anyone 20 bucks to lick the puddle of red stuff right by the door. |

"For the moon had all but dissapeared"
"we packed the bags(ships) and left that night"
"Stand at the side of the sky in Versailles"
"The tide took us and left us there"
"We found him on the hillsides of Versailles"
"We asked the moon to come back to our sky"
"We carried, the moon tonight"
These are live version lyrics, I don't know if the albumn version is different |

When Rob and Zach were in Illinois they went to a Diner before a show and got into a little scuffle with some locals. They were all sick white trash southern types, twenty years behind the times, who think that having a huge Zach Morris cell phone and pager on your belt is totally awesome. This is like their only overtly negative song, and it's about the south and people who think having a confederate flag in the back of your truck window next to your commemorative 8 and 3 for Dale and his boy is the way to show your patriotism. |

Xdayzzz, Aw geez where did you hear that? I talked to Rob's wife at the Montreal show. I bet she'd like to hear your speculations about his sexual orientation. Drugs? Suicide? Identity crisis? You're experiencing what people with educations call projection. Music is poetry and you get from it what you bring to it. Obviously you are or know some gay mans that have identity crises who want to commit suicide by drinking 30 packs of diet coke while watching Sex in the City reruns on TBS. When they find the bodies they'll all have suicide notes written on Blue Screen Life CD jackets and we'll never hear the end of this gay marriage issue. Thanks for ruining TV dinners with your monosodium glutamate. |

Yamale, just becaue you're a nerd doesn't mean all Pinback songs are about you. I see a lot of people making comments about Pinback's music being some quaint social commentary about geeks who never get married, and although the fellows in Pinback like their vidya-games and could be classified by the nerd-term, don't emotionalize their music so that your friends who like Dashboard can like them too, they're not out to slay the societal beast or right the wrongs of nerdom. This song is about Star Wars. And Julius Ceasar, because Zach Smith likes salad. |

| Pinback – Victorious D Lyrics

This song is most certainly about Star Wars, Victorious D refering to Darth Vader, who usually flew around choking stuff in a Victory Class Star Destoyer.
Who is he thinking of as they are falling through? Why, the Twi'leck dancer at Jabba's palace, come on man when she fell through the gate (before Luke and the Pig Fellow) we were all thikning about her. Is she gonna be alright? Will her outfit get torn?
Angels are messengers from higher powers and often people refer to people who save them as their angels. Vader was supposed to bring balance to the force so he was supposed to save them, but he got sick, he suffered and fell from light (the light side) to the darkside, DUH Duh duh.
"We breathe through the same mask"? Hello, he couldn't even breathe without that mask and as Yoda's training proved Vader and Luke had more in common than we thought. Sharing masks, sure.
If young Carrie Fisher purred at me, perhaps sabers would light. Lightsabers that is.
I want in. Young farm boy from Tatooine wants in on this whole rebellion shindig and he gets in. She says it's rebellion because she, Princess Leia was part of the up and ups in the rebellion.
Sinking down in the trash compactor on the Death Star where Obi-wan gave his life. On our way to death...how many people didn't make it out alive? Tons. |
