| Dan Black – U + Me Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| It sounds like "parka" to me.. which makes about as much sense as pocket does. | |
| Children Collide – My Eagle Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I thought this song was "my ego" at first :) If you interpret it that way then it does make a nice metaphor about being too self-absorbed and paranoid to think about anyone else. |

| Travis – Closer Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Hi saracastic, I think everyone sees their own lives in the songs they here. When I hear it, I see me and my wife, even though I'm sure the song wasn't written about us :) It's a beautiful song. |

| Travis – Under The Moonlight Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Mmm, beautiful song. I can't help singing this one in the shower. | |
| Travis – Battleships Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I like this song. I think it's clearly about the way people in relationships tend to argue a lot. And saying how it would be so good if they could just stop arguing about who's right and who's wrong and get on with the loving :) | |
| Travis – One Night Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I find it ambiguous.. it says "one night can make everything alright", but also "but the damage is done, a new day's begun". It's like it's saying that one night can destroy something, but one night can also heal if you have the courage to work things out. |

| Puffy Ami Yumi – Teen Titans Theme Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Go go go teen titans!! | |
| Radiohead – Bishop's Robes Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think he's just being nice.. maybe he met up with the headmaster later and realized that he was only doing what he thought was best. It's never too late to forgive. | |
| Snow Patrol – Chasing Cars Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I have a very simple interpretation.. to me, the song is about wasting time and enjoying it. Too often we are told that wasting time is bad. But when we forget that, we can be happy exactly where we are, and with exactly what we have. Even the expression "wasting time" makes it sound like it's a bad thing. We don't need more money or bigger houses or the latest fashions to be happy. We just need to "find our own grace". And when you find it, you feel like this song sounds :) Such a beautiful song. |

| Radiohead – Lucky Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The song makes me think of someone gambling.. always thinking that he's going to win, so obsessed that he doesn't care of the head of state is calling him. | |
| Radiohead – Killer Cars Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
It reminds me of over-protective mums. It's not unusual for mother to be terrified that their little baby (20 year old baby, 30 year old baby) is going to die while out. I can imagine the mum sitting at home, imagining all the cars trying their best to kill her baby as he drives to and from work. |

| Tool – Pushit (Live) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Such a beautiful song.. I just listen to and lose myself in the sound. It's such a perfect work of art. I barely notice as it goes from soft and mysterious up to the deafening volume at the end, because it does it so smoothly. | |
| Radiohead – Bishop's Robes Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
It's entirely to do with the headmaster. In a concert in 1995 in Stockholm he introduced the song with: "This is a song, this is a new song called Bishop's Robes. This is about an old headmaster we had, cause we went to the same school, cause we're sad. It's about him, and he suddenly decided he was close to God, cause he was a useless headmaster. But now he's a fascist idiot. And this song is about him" |

| Tool – Sweat Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| At a concert in Sacramento in 98, Maynard introduces this song with "This song, like all the other songs, is about anal sex" | |
| A Perfect Circle – Fiddle And The Drum Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I love this song. I sang it with my mum, me taking the low voice and her the high voice. Sometimes it splits into 3 voices, so we only sang 2. I believe the song is drawing an analogy between individual violence and state violence. Firstly, the singer is asking that Johnny stop fighting him/her, but he doesn't listen. Then, the singer is either a country or a person who is under attack by the USA (could be activists, or could be a country like Vietnam). Again, the singer asks them why they are fighting, but they don't listen. It's also a song about showing love in the face of unthinking violence. The singer is always seeing the best in the one who is trying to hurt them. The singer acknowledges his/her fear of the violence also, which I find very powerful. |

| Tool – Forty Six & 2 Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I always interpreted 46 + 2 as meaning 46 years old and 2 years left to live.. Knowing your death is near is what jolts a lot of people back to reality, and has them looking into their shadows, clearing out what could have been, contemplate what they've been clinging to, etc etc. I first heard this song when I was digging into my own lies to myself, so I really identified with it.. |

| A Perfect Circle – The Package Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
When I first heard the song, I thought of lying for sex. Probably because I've never been seriously addicted to any drug. And because I'm horny :P Thinking about the words, I believe the song was written about drug addiction. But that doesn't invalidate the other interpretations at all. I think that everyone sees their own situation in this song.. making for a lot of possible meanings. Having so many interpretations makes it a great song.. apart from sounding great :) I saw APC in Melbourne, Australia.. pretty intense stuff. |

| Jeff Buckley – Grace Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I like to sing this song, so I like to think about its meaning. I think that he is dying.. he knows he will die, and she knows he will die. She is sad about it, but he has accepted it, and he doesn't care if they die tomorrow. Perhaps he is sick and dying, or perhaps he wishes to die. I tend to think he wishes to die, as that's more consistent with the other lyrics, and the feel of the song. The rain reminds him of all the pain that will be left behind when he dies.. he feels like it's a good time to die now. But even though he feels content with death, he keeps on living.. and he wishes it would come sooner. Then the pain would be gone. But until then, he is waiting in the fire.. Judging by his comments about the song, it is love that gives him the strength to contemplate his own death. |
