| Afroman – Crazy Rap Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"It was this blind man right, it was this blind man right He was feelin' his way down the street with a stick right, hey He walked past this fish market, you know what I'm sayin' He stopped he took a deep breath he said Snfffffff, woooo good morning ladies, ha" ...I don't get it. I get the rest of the song, but this joke just flies over me. What the hell is the punchline? Is the punchline that he thinks women smells like fish? Please explain it to me, I'm dying here! |
| In Flames – Starforsaken Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think bukey is right, I've must have been on crack, because that's the lamest song interpretation ever. I don't know what I was thinking, I must have hit my head when I wrote that or something. | |
| Bloodbath – Death Delirium Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This is one of my favorite Bloodbath songs. The intro is so awesome. Batman ftw | |
| Necrophagist – Only Ash Remains Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Easily my favorite Necrophagist song. Everything in it is perfect... As for the meaning... whenever I read the text, I can't help but to think about the movie Evil Dead. In the movie, a couple of collage students goes on a vacation to a small cabin in the woods, where they accidentaly awaken an evil force. The force kills them one by one and turns them all into demons, until only one remains - the one named Ash. |
| Finntroll – Midnattens Widunder Lyrics | 19 years ago |
The solo in this song is probably one of the best I've heard in metal. What is it, an accordion? My favorite Finntroll song. |
| In Flames – Versus Terminus Lyrics | 19 years ago |
My favorite of CC, definitely. By the way, I remember that this song had a different name, before the album was released (a list of songs where put up on IF's website, and at a later time they had replaced one of the songs with this one. I'm assuming it's the same song). Does anyone remember what it was called before? |
| Necrophagist – Advanced Corpse Tumor Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Despite what you might think from the title, the lyrics does ask some deep philosophical questions. How does it feel to be dead? Is it felt at all? Can you think, or is thought lost with your life? And yes, the solo is awesome. |
| In Flames – Superhero Of The Computer Rage Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Even though I love the riff in the intro and the chorus, I have to say that this is my least favorite In Flames song... because I HATE the lyrics, they are just soo horrible and so damn cheezy. "Dark clouds in your heaven Your end has only begun You can scream but the re's no rescue I promise I'll make you sure you die in time" I mean seriously... |
| Tool – Jambi Lyrics | 19 years ago |
x1himynameiseric: My thoughts exactly. "Dim my eyes if they should compromise Or fall from what sin need you find within I might as well be gone " With Dim my eyes, I think he says he must ignore the logic of atheism, so that he can believe in God and his mother's ascension. |
| In Flames – The Inborn Lifeless Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I found the lyrics at Darklyrics.com. Must have been added pretty recently, I haven't seen them before, even though I have looked for them. I personally prefer it over Dead god in me, if not for anything else then the lack of the child-scream part. | |
| Tool – Jambi Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Could this song be, atleast partly about Maynards mother? "But I, I would wish it all away If I thought I'd Lose you just one day " |
| Tool – The Pot Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Okay, I know I shouldn't doubt, but I need comfirmation: is it really Maynard singing on this song? Cuz it sounds like the guy from Weezer. | |
| In Flames – Your Bedtime Story Is Scaring Everyone Lyrics | 20 years ago |
WTF? There's lyrics in this one? anyway, I heard from a friend that thing song is about Anders' child, and that he goes to sleep when the news report comes on. There's never any good news there nowadays, which explains the name and static in the background... But does it have LYRICS? I thought it was just a weird instrumental. I listened closely, and I did here the static say "Find time", but then I couldn't hear anything more from the lyrics. |
| In Flames – Dead End Lyrics | 20 years ago |
With the corrected lyrics posted by Dreadnaught (thanks for that), I am most certain that thing song is about weapons of mass destruction. "What descides when you've lost a war When the first man falls, Or when they've erased it all" Erasing it all? That's gotta refer to the dropping of the bomb. Not much is left after one of those. "What will it take for us to realize The more we provoke, winter will come twice." Winter coming twice could refer to nuclear winter. |
| InMe – White Butterfly Lyrics | 20 years ago |
This is from InMe's website: Why is the new album called 'White Butterfly?' As Dave mentioned in Rock Sound Magazine "A friend of ours passed away a couple of years ago and he was fascinated by white butterflies. About a year later after he died we were sitting around and somebody said, why was he fascinated by them? You never see them', and then one flew by! ...it also has another meaning, because butterflies symbolise rebirth." So, I think it's about their late friend. |
| In Flames – Versus Terminus Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Here's the lyrics, as far as I can hear. 'course, can't know foru sure until the album is out. As far as meaning goes, I think it's about living in the now, and not spending your life overanalyzing everything, because it won't matter in the end. |
| In Flames – Crawl Through Knives Lyrics | 20 years ago |
"It's in my hands, the sky's so bright, it's burning And for me, to design...In Flames We reach out to light, It's in my hands!" I'm probably wrong, but I think it sounds more like "It's in my hands, the sky's so bright, it's burning just for me, to design... we're in flames we'll reach heaven tonight" |
| In Flames – Reflect the Storm Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This song is awesome, easily the best from the new album. The chorus is so beatiful... almost made me cry. | |
| In Flames – Minus Lyrics | 20 years ago |
"Please me, remind the gods of my name I believe there is one seat left for me ." My favorite line in any IF song. I don't think it's about higher powers leaving him behind, I think it's more about him telling us about his greatness. Basicly, he's saying "I am the best", but in a very poetical way that fits perfectly in the song. |
| InMe – Icewarm Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Bah, who cares if more people like the band? Bands like InMe deserve all the attention it gets. These lyrics are too long. The song is just the first part, like this: You could outrage the silent sea, I want to be, I need to be something more like you, (2x) Secrets crack silently when you fall, (2x) Poison my knife we could be here all day, (lots of times) and then repeat. |
| The Knife – Heartbeats Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Bah. José González have nothing on the original, this version is superior in every way. | |
| InMe – Gelosea Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Because of the title, I think this song is about jelousy. | |
| In Flames – Resin Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I heard a live version of this song, where he definitely said "hall of the SILENCE". It might have been "hall of the silenceD", but in any case - he's not saying "giants. And Ddadutta: what chorus? This song doesn't have a chorus, right? |
| Black Label Society – Suicide Messiah Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I always thought this song was about suicide bombers. | |
| In Flames – Lord Hypnos Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Anyone know what they are whispering in the solo? Between the "Frozen music of Gods/Hypnagonia's lucrid horizons" parts. I just can't make it out. About the song, it strikes me as a kind of lullaby, IF style, but I don't know the meaning. |
| In Flames – Upon An Oaken Throne Lyrics | 20 years ago |
based on book or rpg... typical to IF? Maybe on the first album. Personally, I think it's about the media. "Sought for the ever-liquid of our craving Caught by the all embracing nighly sun" The ever-liquid is obviously greed. The all embracing nightly sun... could mean that it shines light on things you would prefered to stay dark, exposing secrets and such. "Wildfire" The news spreads like wildfire. "The tears in their eyes betray" The media doesn't really care, they (the beast) just wants their story. |
| In Flames – Dead Alone Lyrics | 20 years ago |
"The cold worms and me We are all right We are free " "Don't release these chains Never been closer to myself " Songs about my emotions dead and alone Don't make an effort You don't know me anyway " I think this song is about the singer's pain, and how he needs it. He will always belong to the shadow, and that's the way he wants it, because that's when he is himself. |
| In Flames – Borders and Shading Lyrics | 20 years ago |
"You're so far Behind be my hero" I think this part is sarcastic. The singer may be pathetic, but the guy he sings about is worse. |
| Arch Enemy – Dehumanization Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| awesome chorus - it gives me goosebumps | |
| InMe – Faster The Chase Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I thought I had a pretty good clue what this song was about, until I reach the last lines... I'm holding you, Holding you close to me, you are my angel I lost control, you were my enemy, But now you're my friend what the hell does this mean? |
| In Flames – Subterranean Lyrics | 20 years ago |
that's two words. I think this song is about forbidden love. Tears are mentioned quite a lot of times in the song, so it's certainly not a happy song. It could be about a guy having an affair and then feeling very guilty about it. |
| Arch Enemy – Dead Eyes See No Future Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Not necessarily about the US, but about all wars. "Dead eyes See no future" those who are dead doesn't have a future. Makes sense, right? |
| In Flames – Behind Space '99 Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Micheal Stanne wrote the lyrics for Lunar Strain. He's the singer in Dark Tranquillity now. He's certainly an awesome poet. | |
| In Flames – Stand Ablaze Lyrics | 20 years ago |
"Crying, Remembering how it used to be Scarred for eternity Was it meant to be? A life in harmony..." I think this, like most other songs on Subterranean, is about the downside of love. Could be about a relationship that ended in heartbreak. |
| In Flames – Dial 595-Escape Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| easily the best one on STYE. And as far as meaning, I seriously doubt this has the slighest to do with cutting yourself open. Dreadnaught is probably on the right track. | |
| Soilwork – Follow The Hollow Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| The title, Follow the Hollow, pretty much says everything. This song is about following the sheep-herd and being as indifferent as other people as possible. Don't dare to think differently - just agree with the pack. | |
| In Flames – Artifacts Of The Black Rain Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| The intro sounds so much like Lord Hypnos that I sometimes forget which one of them I'm listening to. | |
| In Flames – Everdying Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| anyone have any idea what this song is about? | |
| In Flames – Zombie, Inc. Lyrics | 20 years ago |
This song is about media and it's affect on the world. "Zombie Inc" refers to people trying to be as indiffrent as everyone else as possible, and blindly following trends set på fashion magazines and such. "shallowness and beauty was all that concerned her body but the soul, her divine guest were thrust to the bottom" Pretty obvious, yes? The "she" in question follows fashion blindly, doing what others want and ignoring what she wants. "with your feverish signs of force you´ll make them and yourself to believe that he still retains his full power" Simple again - "they" in question think they are in control, but no - the media controls them. |
| Eminem – Under The Influence Lyrics | 20 years ago |
"Grab a knife at the blade and stab you with the fuckin handle" best line in a rap song... EVER |
| In Flames – Minus Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| What I like to know, is why is it called "Minus"? | |
| In Flames – System Lyrics | 20 years ago |
"when is ever not about opinion you fuckhead" when it's about the meaning of the song? |
| In Flames – Everlost, Pt. 2 Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Woah, awesome song. Anyone else than me who was very suprised by the female voice? I know I didn't expect it. |
| In Flames – Starforsaken Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I've always thought that it was about Moses and the Jews journey through the desert. Forsaken by the Northern star. Ofcourse, I could be dead wrong. |
