| The Ocean – The Origin Of God Lyrics

You fucking idiot. That's not it at all. The band is clearly atheist. So what is being said is, "oh, you think the universe was created??? All this was too much to just randomly happen? Ok, who made your designer then? He must be more complex than anything we see here today, the same things that are too complex to exist without a creator. So that means something created the creator, who was that?"
Basically it is saying the idea of a creator (god) is ridiculous. |

| Brand New – Fork and Knife Lyrics

For me I build most of the song around the line: "The closest thing we had to royaly, a chance to break out parents patterns. We chose to keep our teenage tragedy". Sounds to me like he got a girl pregnant and they decided to give up everything they had in their lives to raise the child, therefore giving up a life of possible success via education and self development. They gave up the chance to be better than their parents by succeding in life to raise a child and fall into a middle class life like their parents barely making it by |

I agree w/ the sex comments. I can relate it to me for sure. It's like this isn't the way he wants it. But after getting you heart broken by someone you truley like you try to fill the void the person left w/ anyone you can get with. I get the impression he doesn't want to do this but it's the only option that makes him feel a little bit better. I feel the same when that happens to me |

Different from the Atreyu we knew before? Def. More of a mainstream influence? I think so. Bad? No, I think this song is pretty good. Why did they change their style to a more mainstream style? Dunno but it's not bad. I like this song for what it is. I'm ont mad because of what this band was. |

Surprised there isn't more comments. This song is amazing and just the type of underground hit that usually blows up on SM.net. Just look at Brand New's lyric page....
One question, who broke up with who? Guessing the guy did it? But it could have been a more mutual thing... hmmmm |

| Bush – Everything Zen Lyrics

Gavin is poking fun at western culture, and more specifically American culture. He takes a stab at every level.
"there must be something we can eat" - food refrence
"We're so bored you're to blame" - so much crap over here but we always want more
Then the religious remarks because the overzealous religious Dbags all up in the US.
"I don't believe that elvis is dead" because there are tards that really can't let go.
And the "no sex in your violence" because we worship violent media but shun anything sexual. He is not necessarily saying we should embrace sex more but rather shun violence more. And I think this is one of the most ass backwards parts of american culture. thanks religion ;).... |

long before I knew this band I thought they sounded black. LOL. But this song is sweet, from the off beat fast music and the lyrics and singing. To me it seems to be telling of human injustice, especially in africa where they mine diamonds and kill lots of people. This is like the closest thing to gangster music/rap for white people, somewhat interesting. |

I partly agree fatnig, but you yourself contributed nothing. Great song. And the more education I get the better I can relate and understand this song. Like it is ok to show all this stuff on tv and then wonder why violence is such a problem in america compared to other places. I dont think violence on tv is wrong, cuz censorship is the anti american but everyone blames marylin manson and others when in reality it is mainly poor parenting. And other countries sex is ok and not looked at as evil, but violence on tv in america is looked at as better? We need better parenting and less scapegoats... |

| Nickelback – Feelin' Way Too Damn Good Lyrics

I don't think it is as cheery and happy as some of you think. First, none of NB songs are very happy. Second, you have to listen to the tone of the lyrics. Just reading them they may sound happy, but in reality, they have more negative undertones.
This sounds like the usual NB, Fucked up relationship, they are just screwing with minimal feelings, both know realistically it wont work, but its good sex! for the time being... |

half the posts on this song are about people saying how they dont like this song. I'm sorry, but I (and many others well past puberty) don't feel like listening to some 16 year old saying how FOB sucks, pete wentz is ugly, they are untalented, and the like. shut up. your high school diploma (or lack there of) does not give you the crediblity to make a good argument on why everyone should hate them. face it, you hate them because they are on the radio every hour. this makes them good scape goats. but massive radio play doesnt make them any worse. If they were still underground, i'm sure all you haters would be loving this song if you even knew who they were before they exploded. face it cry babies, they are no more or less talented than any other band played or not played on the radio, they are just making music how they see fit. shut your mouths. if you can play the guitar better than pete w. go get a record deal and stop complaining |

Yeah, brand new closer than fall out boy to pop rock? ha, brand new is more closer to lyrics containing words that someone like you would have to look up in a dictionary, not at all mainstream. I love fall out boys old stuff, but too say brand new is closer to pop rock is just plain ignorant. |

come on Kostalker, your comment amplifies your own stench (my what a cunning linguist you are....) you have no idea about any of their other great music in the past, you listen to the radio because you like to be told what to listen to. The song also amplifies the stench of the record labels, putting pressure on a band to sound more mainstream to make more money. These companies dont give a shit about me, you, or the band, they just want money. They use the band to make money from us. Thats why each new album from an artist sucks more and more, because the music becomes increasingly less music as intended by the artists. And the other hand you have artist who make the choice for the money and scew their die hard fans and then turn around and lie to them on TV/Internet. but hell, I bet you would do the same for that much money you selfish pig! |

Yeah, it sounds like he kinda got pissed at the higher powers, he was feeling empty and lonely after what had happened and it is easy to turn to something super human and ask "why?". He says how his life has and does suck in other songs, and after the deaths of his family and people in 9/11, he just says "living was already hard enough, the last thing I need is more pain and suffering" |
