On face value I'd say that this is about taking someones hand and guiding through their darkest days "I can see the light" (I can see better things), "stay with me" (just believe me on this one. HOWEVER, I believe the focus and meaning of the track changes as it continues. The way Anders delivers the vocals towards the end of this track hints of pain and infliction. It's raw, pure, unadultered pain in his voice as he screams "stay with me". It's anguish, loss, heartache and helplessness. Almost as if the focus and meaning of "Stay with me" changes towards the end from "i've been through this, follow me" to "please don't die, stay with me". From initially being about "everything will be fine," to being there for someone and feeling helpless as they fade away. |

IN SUMMARY: Someone has been in a relationship where the other party has caused constant fights and created differences between them have lead to the other party calling things off. He's angry and having a shot back telling her she'll do the same thing to someone else. Theres a period of reflection about what has been lost from the relationship, and finally the realisation all is not lost, and getting on with his life. |

This song just shows how brilliant a song writer Scooter Ward is. The song is entirely metaphorical. Imagine someone falling down in a wave and getting dragged away into the ocean. Or someone slipping away from your life and you remain helpless to keep them. The first verse explains that he would give anything to oversee the regrets in the relationship, and get the girl back. It's a song about losing someone you love and being helpless to stop it happening, and how if given a second chance he would do things over again. brilliant song. |

At the end of the video clip that Serj posted on Youtube, it comes up with a URL skyisover.net, which directs to a website in regards to global warming and the envinronment. So thats what the song is about I'd say. Also at the end it says "Civilization is Over" I'm pretty certain, which with the website makes sense. Global warming could eventually lead to the end of the world. |

Almost impossible to know exactly the true meanings of Serj's songs. He is a brilliant lyricist and most of his songs he himself admits are highly open to intepretation. I personally think the song is about getting yourself in a really bad situation, where you just wish the other person involved would drop dead. First situation suggests intercourse with an overweight female. Second suggest incestuous sex. He's pretty much saying "Please kill yourself" to someone in this song. |

Recently discovered this song and I have to say, it is brilliantly written and composed. The song itself has two or three distinct meanings, depending on which persons perspective you are taking it from. The first being a person driven to suicide by losing someone he cared about, and "too late to apologize" for committing suicide. The second is from the girls perspective. He's saying hes hanging on a rope ten feet off the ground. He is so in love with her, but clutching at straws. Then she turns around and tells him she needs him, and then puts him down. But its too late to apologize because he has had enough. The third being from the guys perspective. He was sure he had found his "angel" and he's sorry it didnt work out, is over, but he still needs her. |

Hilarious that none of you have picked up that the lyrics are incorrect. It is not "Let the courage run through me" that is for certain. It is "Let the courage flow through me". Putting it simply a catalyst is someone who precipitates change or an event (like someone who can see the future). Thump2142 is kinda close but going off the wrong track. "Become the catalyst" - Become someone who can anticipate something is going to happen. Now read the rest of the lyrics in context. This song is about empowerment and gaining power and courage. Nothing can stop him. |

The Sunshine comments relate to the fact it was a damn hot day out there. Me and Frankie Avalon relate to him and Frankie (a childhood idol of Daron's) having a photo together. Tony Danza was being a wank on the day and pushing in. and he didnt realise Jack Girardi was so tall/important in hollywood "ten feet tall" i.e more important than everyone else. |

For f*cks sake there are some misquoted lyrics here. ASweetEmbrace is the closest to a reasonable meaning I reckon. Havok himself refers to the girl in the clip as ""The beautiful embodiment of hopelessness". This song is VERY cleverly written and composed, because the meaning of it changes part way through. Firstly its about wanting to be in love with someone who is unobtainable/unreachable. Then it changes to being in love with that person, but there is nothing there "its gone cold/like winter". Love Like Winter = well winter is cold, thus to love like winter is to love someone/something cold heartedly. "It's in the blood" is making reference to something that is meant to be "it's written in blood" means something is definite. This is confirmed with "I met my love before I was born" because he was destined to be with *that* person. "He wanted love, a taste of blood" - Its a metaphor on the previous "its written in blood". The person in question wanted to love her because he felt it was meant to be. "He bit my lip and drank my war" - When you bite your lip, you stuff up and know you have. "Read the lines in the mirror through the lipstick trace "Por Siempre". She said, "it seems you're somewhere far away" to his face." - They thought it would be forever, but to his face he is distant in the relationship. When the he's and shes change you realise the song is conveying the feeling .. EXACTLY on both sides. So in closing what am I on about.. well this.... ..... The people in the song thought they would be together forever and thought they were made for each other. When they got together they loved each other with a cold heart (love / hate relationship), which caused them to turn away from each other. |

Pretty simple song to work out this one. But its powerful. "Can hold my breath but only for a little while, till reality starts sinking in" - Here he is talking about holding back on saying something, and ignoring it, but then it hits him. It's obvious he is sitting thinking deeply about something and a revelation has hit him. "Once again I’m settling for second best turn the page and skip to the end to where I Swore that I would try Since the last time I crossed that line" The revelation is that he has once again grown complacent in the relationship, and is instead of doing something about it, is just putting up with it, evidenced by "settling for second best". He then comes to his senses and promises that he will put the effort into the relationship, but also is concious "in the back of my mind" that.. "It only hurts when you’re eyes are open Lies get tossed and truth is spoken It only hurts when that door gets opened Dreams are lost and hearts are broken" Here he is saying that when he pays attention in the relationship and "opens his eyes" the truth comes out. "I know what you're feeling Its hard to believe in Someone, someone, who’s not there I know that you’re waiting Cause love is worth saving But only for So long, so long, so long" He's talking about being vacant and not "being there" in the relationship, and pondering if its worth saving. ---- This leads me to believe the song is either about a failed/failing relationship, where he is trapped in a hole and unsure what to do... or it is about not putting the effort into a relationship and it all falling apart. Those who are religious will see a link the song is making in reference to Noah and the ark. Those who arent religious will see it as people doing wrong, choking or drowning on their problems, and never being able to overcome them. While Doomsday lovers will see it as a song about the ending of the world. |

If you havent already, go now and check out the video clip for this song.. it is bloody fantastic. If the video clip tells the story the song is intended to tell .. then the song is about a decision on whether to hold on, or to let go of everything major in your life. It features Scooter in a car accident, and EMT's and people are running around distraught, he is "outside his body" looking in on the EMT's working on him trying to save his life. In the end he realises it isnt worth it, and decides not to hold on .. but yeah.. Yet another brilliantly written Cold song, backed up with a very well orchestrated video clip. Well done once again Cold!! |

Driven to Destruction on PS2, its a Destruction Derby type game I could crap on for hrs about how brilliant it is, but yeah.. the soundtrack to the game is awesome. This just happened to be my fav song on the whole game soundtrack... and nothing beats a night of Chain or Bus Racing, with this song blaring in the background.
