Change The World Lyrics
thinking of the mess was made
you became a part of me
Thinking of the wish you made
to break free
Playing you like I can
shoving it in your face
this doesn't break your heart
I'm the one to blame
[Chorus]
I never wanted to change your world
I always wanted the simple things
and whatever happens now
it can't be real
Thinking that you might betray
My own private fantasy
I'm the one that gives
what you need
playing you like I can
Shoving it in your face
if this doesn't tear you apart
I'm the one to blame
[Chorus] x2
Now you're gone
I feel betrayed
You can't blame me
you walked away
Now you're gone
You can't blame me
You walked away
[Chorus] x3
I never wanted to change your world
I always wanted the simple things
you became a part of me
Thinking of the wish you made
to break free
Playing you like I can
shoving it in your face
this doesn't break your heart
I'm the one to blame
[Chorus]
I never wanted to change your world
I always wanted the simple things
and whatever happens now
it can't be real
Thinking that you might betray
My own private fantasy
I'm the one that gives
what you need
playing you like I can
Shoving it in your face
if this doesn't tear you apart
I'm the one to blame
[Chorus] x2
Now you're gone
I feel betrayed
You can't blame me
you walked away
Now you're gone
You can't blame me
You walked away
[Chorus] x3
I never wanted to change your world
I always wanted the simple things

according to Scooter at the show in Grand Rapids, MI on March, 13 2003. the song is suppose to be about him, and his success, and himself as a person. people look to him, and they expect a lot from him, because of his success. but in this song, he is trying to say, to not be surprised when he fails.
I personally thought that Cold went on tour a lot, causing Scooter's girlfriend to turn to drugs and eventually die.
In an interview Scooter Ward he said this "“Sometimes relationships work, and sometimes they don’t. When you travel around like we do, you meet people and have a certain effect on them because you’re always gone. You can get to a point where you understand that this person doesn’t want exactly what you want, and they can’t deal with places where you’re at. It’s like, ‘I didn’t mean to drag you into this much pain, but that doesn’t need to go on any further.’ I’m owning up to that with this song.” Scooter Ward"
