aaahhhhhh this is the best! i can actually say that i love every ree big fish song ive heard, but this has to be somewhere pretty near the top! i think it is about looking at things in perspective. i mean, like they are heroes of the ska-punk scene and worshiped by millions... but if you took a crowd of the general public, very few would have heard of them cos they aren't "rock n roll stars" well thats the case here in england anyway. at my school there is like the RBF club which consists of about 5 or 6 of us! out of about 1500! |

you can say whether a band is talented or not. you can't say whether a band is good or bad for example, i listen mainly to ska punk (reel big fish, fandangle, suburban rhythm, less than jake, sublime) but i also like tracks by tool, mortiis, athlete, queen, darude, the corrs, savage garden, jimmy eat world, millencolin, the aquabats, bad religion, children of bodom, coheed and cambria, grateful dead, the honeyz... not many people would like that range of music. i would not say all those artists are particularly talented, but they are all obviously good, because people like them i don't particularly like system of a down. they are still good though, or they would never have gotten a record deal would they? |

anyone here heard the song Boston? im pretty sure its by the matches, not the locals (the matches before jon joined), but i can't find the lyrics anywhere... it might have been on e von dahl killed the locals before they released it with epitaph the reason im writing this here is because there are distinct similarities between these two songs... not just in the lyrics ('she chained me free', and 'even though she's 17 i had to say "you're too old for me"'), but also the whole structure is basically the same chain me free is the first matches song i properly loved |
