Everyone Leaves Lyrics
I'm going back, thinking about all the changes
Going back, to all those wasted years
I see the rise and fall, of the world I lived in
This time, it doesn't seem real at all
But I took the fall, and on came all the changes
All I had could not be saved, it was far to late
Everyone leaves in the end
Everything dies in the end
It doesn't matter how hard you hold on
Everyone leaves in the end.
I'm going back, to the times you went away
I thought you thought that I was that monster
I see the rise and fall, of the world that I made,
I always wanted to take you with me,
And there I saw some people, for the people that I thought they were,
In your painful abscence
Everyone leaves in the end,
Everything dies in the end,
It doesn't matter how hard you hold on.
Everyone leaves in the end.
It doesn't matter how hard you hold on..

What is Era 1?
Ambient sounding stuff.
This is the first Mortiis song I have ever listened to, and I d/led it shortly after my Aunt died (the title drew me in) it sort of gave me comfort, I now love this song.
this song is sad...
"it doesnt matter how hard you hold on, everyone leaves in the end..."
call me some sappy little girl but, i cry sometimes when i read this and a couple other of Mortiis' songs.. its so true... everything dies, everything leaves, everything changes... and oh how mortal men hate that...
" dude this guys nose is huge is he jewish?"
Its called a mask, you dimwit.
I think this song is looking back on Era 1 as well as his past in general, and putting down in song how he feels.
I think this song is about era 1 too ..
"Going back, to all those wasted years" that mortiis spent in era 1 building his kingdom, making songs, writing his book etc.
"I see the rise and fall, of the world I lived in" the world that he created through his music and sort of lost faith in after era 1
"But I took the fall, and on came all the changes" in an interview on the soul in a hole dvd mortiis is talking about era 1 and says something like "I fell from that", meaning he lost his faith in the kingdom he built and of course era 2 which came next was a big change.
"I see the rise and fall, of the world that I made" his kingdom.
I'm not sure what the references to people are about.. perhaps mortiis had villagers in his kingdom or something lol, or maybe a person he loved was part of the reason he lost faith in the era 1 kingdom thing. I don't know.
Personally though this song to me is about losing a loved one and is very emotional.
They need to put this song on their VampireFreaks.com profile!
era 1 was mortiis immediately after he left emperor, anyone who says era 1 was a waste is deluded. Amazing stuff
