this song is about having faith that God is with us even when we can't feel Him or it seems like He's nowhere near. We have to take Him on His word that He will "never leave us or forsake us". but life makes it so hard sometimes to know what's real, so we have to keep in mind that this world we see is but a shadow of the whole, and remember that God loves us and is with us even when it doesn't seem like it |

this song is so artistic.
it starts with a heart-monitor slowing to a flatline. then the song discusses death, what is it like? the chorus is God's words to us, both upon receiving His new life and upon entering into His eternal rest. i absolutely love the line "you are not the only one who feels like the only one." (that line belongs with the next stanza, by the way, not the chorus)
then at the end there's a classic bell alarm clock ringing louder and louder and louder till it cuts out and the song fades to a simple heartbeat.

one of my friends said she recognized it as stuff from Song of Solomon. which would make it both about his girlfriend/wife/etc. and about God talking to us, since that is the symbolism in Song of Solomon.
really, when you think about it that way, any love song that expresses true, pure love for someone can also be applied to our relationship with God... |

XxseennotheardxX has an interesting view, and from that view it could be about any kind of addiction that serves to temporarily take away the pain of life
however the first thing i thought was that its about someone contemplating suicide, and the writer of the song is saying they could go ahead and it would remove the pain of life, however if they wanted, they could also do whatever the phrase "say hello again" is talking about, and that would be a better way to deal with things |

i think if you were more honest and open with yourself you'd find that you relate to their lyrics a lot more than you think. nightwish's lyrics are some of the most honestly written and most unashamedly open about the way he really feels inside about his life, etc. that i've ever read/heard |

this song to me seems to be more about someone who knows he's dying physically (or maybe he isn't, could go both ways), and feels like he has a deeper sickness. he knows there's a cure for his sickness ("...chest of remedy", "...my cure lies", "deliver my soul from the sword"), but for some unexplained reason he believes that the cure is unattainable ("left me with no key to unlock the chest of remedy", "no Christ to end this war", "higher than hope my cure lies"). and so giving up hope of being cured, he relenquishes himself to death. |

i like this song because it shows emotional maturity not seen in many bands: the fact that they realize how pointless it is to be angry and hostile all the time, and that living with love is so much more fulfilling that living with hate |

i think this is talking about being drawn in by temptation and the consequences of acting on that temptation. this song seems to be specifically adressing sexual immorality i think. and then talking about how she wishes she could rewind time, i guess to take back her actions. |

well, i kinda got the image of him taking a stab at people that make him out to be the bad guy for something. that or people who just wanna leech off of him, it talks about all the people gathering around his dead body in the street to watch the vultures. then it also talks about disembowelment (at least that's what it sounds like he's talking about... maybe not) and i have no clue what that's all about... this song is confusing |
