i interpreted this song two different ways. firstly, and more obviously, it could be about his significant other (wife, girlfriend, whatever). so that would make it just another love song, a really kick ass love song, but a love song none the less. the second way i interpreted it, you have to take into account that extol is a christian band. what if the person talking was God? that would totally fit the song and make perfect sense.

one of my friends said she recognized it as stuff from Song of Solomon. which would make it both about his girlfriend/wife/etc. and about God talking to us, since that is the symbolism in Song of Solomon. really, when you think about it that way, any love song that expresses true, pure love for someone can also be applied to our relationship with God...

this song is one of my favorite songs from extol. i interpreted this song as being about you before you became a christian the earth is a very dark place and you don't know how to live your life then you see a man walking close to where you are later you come to see and realize that man is Jesus waiting for you to come and lead you out of the darkness and into a narrow path leading to heaven.
