Radiohead – Idioteque Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Umm yeah, Persian Boy... |
Elliott Smith – Whatever (Folk Song in C) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I absolutly love this song! It's from Elliott Smith's Basment Demos. It's obviously about a relationship in which the partner dumped the other person but still continues to hang out with him/her. In a way they are leading the other person on. "if you're all done, like you said you'd be, what are you doing, hanging out with me?" It's very short and very sweet. |
Travis – Killer Queen (Queen cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Actually, this cover is quite well done! It sounds almost exactly like the original Queen version! Def. give it a listen. |
Travis – The Cage Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think this is about letting a girl go. Keep her "caged" was stopping the happiness from or coming, or the "spring." It's time to let go. It's time to let go. |

This song hits home and makes me cry because my relationship is like this. :( |
Radiohead – Bullet Proof...I Wish I Was Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree. It's about the realization of our vunerability. This is def. one of the most chill songs of all time and call really rise emotion out of me. I love it. |
Radiohead – Let Down Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Ok I read that Thom Yorke got this line, "The emptiest of feelings disappointed people clinging onto bottles" While he was in a bar, and he just had this image of all the drinkers hanging from the cieling, holding on to their bottles while the floor was caving in beneath them. Great imagery. |
Radiohead – Idioteque Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Hmm I originally had no idea what this song is about, But I think it is def. a nuclear war or Global warming. Genius. |
Travis – Re-Offender Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I belive Fran wrote this song about his mother who was constantly abused by his dad. |
Travis – U16 Girls Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Ok aside from the physical aspect of this, I think fran could mean... Underage, but in the emotional sense... Like the girl you are dating it too immature and doesn't know how to respond to a relationship. She is emotionally young. Fran says make sure she is "old enough" or make sure she can handle a relationship before "you blow your mind" or before you try to establish one with her... She might look like she's "old enough" or she might physically be like 18 but she acts like she is 12... If so, let her go, you let her down in style... Basically ditch her is she is immature... |
Travis – The Beautiful Occupation Lyrics | 19 years ago |
There are also I believe some mistakes in the lyrics... #1 "Stick it in the back Stick it in the back" It should be "Stick it in the bag, Stick it in the bag..." #2 "Up to city come I'm just sittin here I'm just wastin my time Half a million civilians gonna die today They looked the wrong way" It should be: "I'm too cynical, I'm just sitting here, I'm just wasting my time, Half a million civillians gonna die today, But look the wrong way..." |
Travis – The Beautiful Occupation Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I agree with lategreats, it def. has to do with the war in Iraq... Half a million, civilians gonna die today... Look the wrong way... |

Good stuff... X 2 ! |
Bright Eyes – Time Code Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Its a very good album opener. It possessives that "digital" feel, but at the same time relates the listener to the univeral theme of the album; DEATH |
Travis – Follow The Light Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I agree, I think the "light" just refers to the "right" solution. It might be Jesus, but I don't think it specifically means that... |
Travis – Pipe Dreams Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"And it all boils down to the same old pain..." This line reminds of Bright Eyes, One Foot In Front Of the Other (Landlocked Blues) "And it all boils down to one quotable phrase, if you love something give it away..." |
Travis – Side Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I believe that this songs hints to a great sancturay and paradise in our lives. "the grass is ALWAYS greener on the other side..." Stating, that live can always be better no matter who you are, or what you have. "Neighbor's got a new car that you want to drive..." Maligns the strict materialism in our society. Bigger, better, and improved products guarented to ameroliate our lives. Blah, I HATE MATERIALISM! |
Travis – Side Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Although I agree this song is metaphorical in its own entity, I believed that Loose Tongue was a bit overzealous on its analyzation. However the question that is posted at the bottom of this page is "what does this song mean to YOU?" If, in all respect, that is how you percieve this song Loose Tongue, then by all means it is your perogative. However I must disagree. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Warm Tape Lyrics | 19 years ago |
The beginning of this song always turned me off, but the chorus is great! I love the reference to "water of love" I really understand that line! |
Desaparecidos – Man and Wife, the Latter (Damaged Goods) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I agree with Cheese. Those lines mean you can't buy love. Love comes upon itself, it can not be forced, take it slowly... "So I'd thought I'd let you know, That these things take forever, I'm especially slow, But I realized that I need you, and I wondered if I could come home" ~ From Conor's First Day of My Life Both of these songs have the same Idea. |
Desaparecidos – Manana Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song, I agree with everyone, is about future generations... Totally rocks! Is Mike Mogis the guy who also did the fake radio interview with Conor? |
Desaparecidos – Greater Omaha Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Yes, I agree with Skaman2... I love the whole theme of, "Just one more mouthful and they will be happy then..." I love how that carries out through the whole song... |
Bright Eyes – Gold Mine Gutted Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I must admit, I LOVE this song! I love the raggae kind of style behind the lyrics: "And from the sidelines I see you run...etc,etc..." I really understand that part. You can almost apply it to a relationship. Another great work again. |
Eisley – Marvelous Things Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I just heard this song from Paste (a magazine). I must say I was deeply impressed with this cut, what surprised me more was how the oldest band member is 22 and one of the sisters is 15! I was like !!!!!!!! haha good stuff |
Bright Eyes – Lua Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think its the eating disorder by far... The black lines under the eyes came come from two things... When you puke sometimes you cheeks and the area under your eyes get red almost like it appears that blood has filled your pores... Also if you starve your self you start to look gaunt and extrememly tired all the time, and develop black circles under you eyes. This girl sounds like she has a mix of anorexia nervosa and bulimia (the purging kind). That explains the "going to the bathroom" thing. I'm sure you could do crack anywhere, but you can really only puke in a bathroom after every meal. It's too bad for her, eating disorders suck. |

Kelly Clarkson – Breakaway Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I must agree with everyone else! I not really into Pop and the new age musical culture, but I must admit this is a great song! |
U2 – Original of the Species Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Wow thanks for explaining that to me! |
Bright Eyes – A Perfect Sonnet Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Nah I disagree, Conor sings and he voice fits his style of music perfectly. It fits the mellow yet melodic, nonchanlant, depressed attitude, that many of his songs carry. And when the song calls for a bit of fervor, Conor's voice supplies that. In case you haven't noticed, the music to Conor's songs are very basic for this is not his purpose of music. His purpose to spread his lyrics to the audience; the music acts merely as a backdrop to his vocals. Anyways this song is great. I love the three variations of "I believe that lovers should be..." It really hits home! |
Bright Eyes – Haligh, Haligh, a Lie, Haligh Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Heard this song for the first time today... Very Impressive, i fell imediatley in love with it... As I sing and sing of awful things, the pleasure that my sadness brings as my fingers press onto the strings you get another clumsy chord. Haligh, Haligh, an awful lie. My favorite part def. |
Grand Funk Railroad – Gimmie Shelter Lyrics | 19 years ago |
