i am always impressed with kevin devine's imagery in his lyrics. "a myth we've made to scare out fears away a slogan that we slap on all our misdirected hate a muddy symbol meant to mitigate our pain but it's really just a desert corpse we've painted on the wall out in some cave" i can't get over how amazing he is. |

this is also my favorite song from bring it back. i'm obsessed with the lines "I just want to feel the taste of the meal And not the routine of dining here". i agree with mogwin that it's about seizing the day. and i also think it's about not spending a lot of time on un-necessary activity and to be truthful to ourselves. |

i love this song so much. the only part of this song i can really explain is the obvious "Then you'll be stoned in some park, just nodding your head and pinching your arms, when a girl walks along. She's humming your song, with your t-shirt on. That's when you're done, Oh, that's when you're done..." its like when kevin devine sees someone with a tshirt of his and it's just surreal and creepy to see someone with his shirt and humming to words he wrote. |

i'm not sure these are exact because i played them by ear. but anyway this is one of my new favorite eisley songs. i love the country-esque sound about it. in the vaguest of terms it seems to be about someone you neglected but didnt do it intentionally and now regret it. |

i think this song is about growing older and things changing rapidly. and finding comfort in someone you didn't expect to. "nothing is clear all your thoughts they have become so hard to find. with a question mark always slumped at the end of these awkward lines. " i can defintely relate to that. |
