yeah this song is definitely anti-Bush...awesome part is the irony of making it a country song, because the majority of country songs and singers are Republican, patriotic types. |

I think it is also about the innocence of childhood, when you are wide-eyed and naive, and find interest in a simple seashell or ring. Eventually, though, you grow up and the innocence is washed away, leaving only the bad stuff, or "the poison in the sands in which I played." |

Brians mumbling is him reading a cult pamphlet in the background, which leads me to believe that this song is about a cult. |

this is definitely about suicide-the first verse is definitely talking about a suicide note. The second verse is about the funeral, and "morning" should be spelled "mourning" |

This sounds like its about a fugitive hiding out from the law. At the beginning its like hes talking to someone tryingto help him, and telling them not to put themselves at risk. The part when they say "the day the sun gets in your eyes is the day that you'll be free" is like when he finally comes out of hiding after he spent his "lifetime in the shade." |

This is about someone changing into someone you dont recognize and deciding they no longer need you in their life, and even though the relationship is over, looking back it was worth it. |

Its about that guy that exists in every high school who is like, mr. cool, who is the star football player, homecoming king, etc. and who goes around "giving dead-arms in the hall" and being mean to everyone else, but then when he grows up and graduates he has done nothing else with his life and so his life isnt what he thought it would be when he was on his own. |

this may be WAY out there, but to me it sounds like someone who has Aspergers syndrome, which is a social disease. I have it, and this song hits me hard cuz i feel like it describes me..."cant change my mind" cuz im really stubborn, and "i never knew til someone told me that" cuz i dont even notice my mannerisms until someone points it out. |

I dont think the jesus part has anything to do with the actual meaning of the song, since the working title was "singing with the radio" I think they just put the jesus in the continue being ironic like they like to do
As for the song, I think its about someone who has sunk to a low point in their life and is looking back at who they used to be. |
