Shadows Fall – Thoughts Without Words Lyrics 19 years ago
Does anyone want to talk about the lyrics? According to Brian Fair, the song is about about yoga and meditation, and 'that moment where inspiration and expression kind of come to one point.'

Shadows Fall – Idle Hands Lyrics 19 years ago
How about some comments on the lyrics? This song appears to be about how anger, while on the surface directed towards the outside world, is ultimately a self-destructive force.

Queensrÿche – Best I Can Lyrics 19 years ago
Guitarist Chris DeGarmo, who wrote 'Best I Can', explained to Kerrang! Magazine in June 1990: 'It's about a young boy who has a tragic accident as a child, and has to overcome his handicaps to make something of his life, and overcome what others perceive to be a handicap. It's a song, basically, about beating the odds."

Queensrÿche – Silent Lucidity Lyrics 19 years ago
The lucid dreaming interpretations above are of course correct. Guitarist Chris DeGarmo said to Kerrang! Magazine in June 1990: "'Silent Lucidity' is probably one of the most genuinely out there things we've ever done. It's about what they call 'lucid dreaming'. Or 'dream-control'. Basically, just opening up the doors to your subconscious mind, and learning how to master your dreams. Actually be able to steer and control them."

Queensrÿche – Best I Can Lyrics 19 years ago
The song appears to be about a wheelchair bound person with aspriations to eventually walk again. The Christopher Reeve like hero states: "I won't be torn between the many in the chair and the man that's in my dream". There are also other references to the chair. The first verse, along with the rather cheesy opening sequence, indicates that the cause of the injury was a parent's gun.

Poison – Fallen Angel Lyrics 19 years ago
Masterofpuppets I have to agree with you. Poison have aged incredibly well. We might laugh at their image now but the song writing is too strong to simply dismiss them as a throwaway band.

Megadeth – Tornado Of Souls Lyrics 19 years ago
Mustaine agrees that Friedman's solo is a great one. Friedman said in 2002: "When I finished the solo to this one, Mustaine came into the studio, listened to it down once, turned around and without saying a word, shook my hand. It was at that moment that I felt like I was truly the guitarist for this band."

Megadeth – Take No Prisoners Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is indeed about World War II. It was not until after the album was recorded that Mustaine realised that, since lead guitarist Friedman is Jewish, having him sing about the Panzer divisions may have been somewhat insensitive.

Megadeth – Hangar 18 Lyrics 19 years ago
Menza's belief in the existence of Hangar 18 was not shared by Mustaine, who described it as 'B.S'.

Megadeth – Recipe for Hate... Warhorse Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is about Mustaine's disdain for Capital Records. Mustaine explained in 2001: "By the time I wrote this I didn't care if the fucking Capitol tower fell on its side and rolled into the ocean with everyone it in. I have never seen such a display of hateful, selfish, self-centered, fucks in my life. Thank God, all of the people that were there when we were there are gone. I feel sorry for the bands that are there. I hope the artist left there will get treated better than we were, because there were some good artists there. But I doubt it."

Megadeth – Insomnia Lyrics 19 years ago
Mustaine explained in 1999: "I think the song is something that people aren't going to expect. It was inspired by a lot of the English rave and techno bands, but at the same time, it's pretty heavy. It's talking about insomnia, but it's really a tongue in cheek song about my life during the '80s, something that anyone who has ever been into staying up all night partying can relate to."

Megadeth – Die Dead Enough Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is about Lara Croft. Mustaine was asked to write it for the soundtrack to 'Tomb Raider II'. The Studio liked the song but Mustaine was dissatisfied with the amount they were prepared to pay for it and the song was never used.

Megadeth – Something I'm Not Lyrics 19 years ago
The word missing from the lyrics above is 'enissophobia'. It means an abnormal fear of being criticised or of having committed an unpardonable sin.

Megadeth – Set the World Afire Lyrics 19 years ago
The line, "Einstein said 'We'll use rocks on the other side'," is a reference to the quote by Albert Einstein quote: "The next World War will be fought with stones".

The line, "The arsenal of Megadeth can't be rid of," appears to be sourced from a pamphlet by California Senator Alan Cranston which contains the statement: "The arsenal of megadeath can't be rid no matter what the peace treaties come to."
