I can't immediately speak for the rest of the song, but it's the final verse that doesn't just speak to me; it SCREAMS at me. The mind of a severely depressed individual, who doesn't understand why they are alive or when it will end: "What it is and where is stops, nobody knows" Out of nowhere and without any desire for it, a child is thrown into their lives, when they didn't want to be a parent in the first place: "You gave me a life I never chose" Depression continues to run rampant in their mind, continually flirting with the thought of auicide, but unable to do it because they can't abandon their child "I wanna leave but the world won't let me go" Self centered resentment is pouring through their thoughts, 'this was supposed to be MY life'. Of course love isn't eternal - that's the main point of the song. I gather it is about either a new relationship or a rekindled love. You're so caught up in the endorphins of having this new person in your life that everything is kind of glazed over - you think of nothing else but that person. And while you're riding that high you seem invincible; you feel as though you could accomplish anything. You're on top of the world. However; you fail to realize that this feeling will fade eventually and you will be brought back to the real world. You become scared that this feeling will fade and you will go back to how you felt before: sad... alone... You want this feeling to last forever... Even if you don't believe it; even if you know it is not true...you still want to believe... Love is eternal |

| I agree with sploish. I think that she is having an affair with somebody and he will come over and they do it again. It's a very easy thing for them to pull off and she hasn't gotten caught yet, but she still thinks that what they are doing is wrong and she feels guilty about it, she can't stop though because she sees nothing but perfection in this guy. She hates herself for what she's doing, and she hates him for the same reason too, but she still can't stop because there's always something that draws her back to him. | Do you expect anything less as far as the soundtrack goes? Tarantino always has the best soundtracks for any of his movies. Every song within the movie is completely appropriate and perfect. There is not a single bad song within any of his movies, and that is including this one. There could not have been a better song picked for the credits than this one. I'm surprised though, how little attention this song received until it was used for the ending credits for Grindhouse. | |
