I've seen cruel intentions again since posting that last message. i don't think it suited the scene, or the movie. although the song and the movie are both great |

i think what he's saying is that girls who know they're beautiful know they can get any guy they like. it's the same for guys who know they're good-looking. i've only ever been screwed over by guys who are good-looking because they don't have the capacity to care about anyone but themselves, they've been told their whole lives how great they are, just because they're good-looking. likewise my guy friends always complain to me that it's the pretty girls who screw them over. don't go after the hot ones!!!!! |

Radiohead – Black Star Lyrics

i think this song is about breaking up coz the relationship obviously isnt working out. its not that theyre not in love, its that she has her own probs, and he doesnt wana deal with them anymore. he thinks hes over her but hes not coz when he sees someone that looks like her he wants her all over again.
i agree with vertigo - the black star is something they cant see but is there. the falling sky tho i think may be representative of her paranoia maybe |

Mazzy Star – Fade Into You Lyrics

first of all the line
"you'll come apart and you'll blank"
is actually "you'll come apart and you'll go black"
ok my interpretation
yeah i agree it's one of those songs u listen to to reflect on stuff. the song infiltrates u and makes u feel so relaxed, warm, all those happy things. i think the lyrics are about falling in love and telling someone u love them who u thought knew ("strange you never knew"). i think the speaker transforms their lover, brings them out of the shadows in which they have been living their life. |

Counting Crows – Colorblind Lyrics

i am a big fan of this song and of cruel intentions. this song is so emotional and deep and layered but with such simple lyrics it can be interpreted in many different ways. i mean, its basically about being ready for something and maybe the most obvious thing is coming out of ur shell like in the line "Pull me out from inside". Or losing ur virginity which is associated with how the song is used in cruel intentions (and that it is a wonderful make out/sex song). But it could be anything else, just that feeling you get when u know ur ready for something, still scared but ready. even ready to die. how morbid. sorry. |

omg this song is so awesome. musicmuse ur story made me cry :'(
my ex loved this song too and so did i. he loved to sing in the car but it was the only song i'd sing along with him to. we'd look each other in the eye and sing the whole thing together even tho we both have really crap singing voices lol
anyway this is the first song i remember loving as a kid and i think i will for the rest of my life.
its fantastic |

a quote from thom yorke"
"whenever i meet a beauty, i escape or hide in a corner. not that i think they are intimidating, but they attract horrible people. some guys really do their utmost to make these beautiful women believe how good they are. beauty means power. and i'm a bit cynical towards all that. honestly i've never met a beautiful girl that i really liked. you never get the chance to really get to know them. result : i don't even take the effort now to try to meet them" |

this could also be from the point of view of a girl in a relationship. i know when im in a relationship i feel so unworthy compared to the guy im with. and i close up and end up running away from it :(
does anyone else here luuuuurv the acoustic version? while the original is a bit too bitter maybe, i think the acoustic is so much more heartfelt, true and pure.
as mo0stah says, listen and feel |

yes, i agree that it is a feel-good song in that it makes you realise that you're not the only one who's down. but i also understand whoever said that many people commit suicide with this song on. it's in his telling u to hang on and to hold on: it makes u wonder wot the fuk there is to hold onto. and if theres nothing to hold on to then u cant help feel as tho suicide is the only way out, just to stop the pain, coz nothing else will. thats how u feel when ur in that suicidal state of mind. sory to be so fuckin depressing. i do love this song really |

Mercury Rev – Tonite It Shows Lyrics

Into yr soul, i tried t' climb, but found the hole t' high
those are my favourite lyrics. i think this song is about when u meet someone and u think they're right for you, but as time goes on u find its not gona work coz u dont understand each other. specifically i dont think the guy understands the girl, who is having her own problems - she's a walking civil war! |

i didnt realise this song was about heroin until i saw trainspotting which uses this song in the most perfect way imaginable. telos i agree with you, the bittersweet stuff. the song describes such a perfect day, almost able to be understood as romantic and shared with another person, but really about heroin, which as telos says will catch up with him in the end (you're goin to reap just what you sow) |

i think the songs on my iron lung cd are underrated. this song is genius i agree. i think its about not being a victim of your own thoughts. don't try and think about existence and your life etc and you'll be able to sleep |

i think it's about giving up the highs of life so that you don't have to endure the consequential lows. he's taking the quiet life, and i don't take that as meaning suicide, but moving somewhere quiet, maybe out of the city, where he can avoid the alarms and surprises of everyday life |

ive always thought those lines are really interesting. they can be taken in two ways in my view: 1 way is the person in the song wants to have control, a perfect body etc. but the other way to see it is that he wants to have control over this girl, he wants her for her perfect body and soul |

Pink – Family Portrait Lyrics

i think this song has the obvious meaning as explained by everyone so far... but i also think the meaning can be extended. its about the kid having no control over losing the love of her parents. i think it relates to the feeling that many people have when in relationships when they like/love someone so much but feel so vulnerable because who knows when it'll all fall apart and that person will leave u broken-hearted.
meh just my random thoughts |

jamiroquai are pure genius... putting two claps in between the lines
Why does it have to be like this *clap clap*

'Cos you make me love you, love you, baby *clap clap*
With a little "l"
...genius |

"sometimes I feel I'm getting stuck, between the handshake and the fuck" i think is the line that says what the whole song is about. i think it's about thinking too much about whether a particular relationship will work and not just trusting your heart. oh how much this is about my life! |
