this song is truely amazing. one of their best, if not their best ever. it has so many different meanings to so many different people, and each one is incredibly meaningful. the writing is incredibley passionate. you can tell that these aren't just words written down to sell records, but really honest feelings. i know how it feels to have feelings like this and i know how hard it is to express them in your writing accurately and meaningfully. i think its safe to say that he has done a grand job of just that. |

this is easily my favorite song by val emmich. the way he sings sounds so meaningful. this song seems to be about wanting to grow up too fast as a teenager. he talks about how it takes time and that dreams wouldn't be dreams if they didn't take time. this is really a beautiful song about a very hard lesson to learn in life. |

This is my favorite song by the rocket summer. bryce avery effing dominates. the lyrics in this one ring so true to life. the way he writes really shows he understands it. the piano in this song is so cool, and his voice is so unique. i love it. |

Such an incredibly beautiful song. The way he sings the chorus gets me everytime. I love it. He is such a good writer and singer. This song pretty much looks like it's about a dying relationship. The way he talks about having "nothing left to give" pretty much gives it away. But also it looks like it's about how he'll never find the right person/place in life, and how it's all so confusing. That's my take, right or wrong, a really good good song. |

This song, more than any other I've ever heard, applies directly to me. I know exactly how he feels. This exact same situation just happened to me, down to the last detail. It ended today though, and this song has been playing just as long. I feel bad for him, because i know how bad he hurts. |

I think that the tide and the ocean are metaphors for their childhoods. They were swept away because of what was going on while they we're growing up. Then when it says 'Now all her advice, it seems useless,' I think that means that everything she tried to teach them never really helped them. The mother tried to help them grow up, but she couldn't. Everything she taught them seemed useless and un applicable in the real world. Them dying at the age of 15 is a metaphor for how they would all 'fall in love,' and there was nothing that the mother could do to stop them from unhappiness. |

I love this song. The whole Fading Days [EP] is the best. Anyways, this song is pretty simple to explain. It seems to be about a relationship that went wrong and how he will never forget her, (I'll hold a place for you and I, inside my heart for you and I). And how we wants to remember all the good times that they had, instead of the bad times. Also it can be about him going away and not wanting to, (I'll keep my heart with yours, for every minute I am gone). |

definately my favorite song on the new album.
From what i can tell, he's talking about how he can't fin happiness, no matter where he is. So he keeps moving one, searching for what he knows he'll never find. |
