Look at slow motion
Asleep at the door
Next to destruction
Reach for the source

Get up, Get up, Get over
Take me to your blackened sky
Get up, Get up, Get over
Take me to your blackened sky

Sick with you wasted,
Dreams when you can.
Find time to console them,
Become what I am.

If you
Submit to
All the hopes you made
Down
Through
Your heart

Get up, Get up, Get over
Take me to your blackened sky
Get up, Get up, Get over
Take me to your blackened sky

Passed away
I hope you dont mind
What was left, you have
To see it through

If you wanna get in
Go and break my heart
Take me to your blackened sky
Take me to your blackened sky

I don't think those lyrics are right...between "become what I am" and "get up, get up" it should say: "If you submit to all the hopes you made down, through your heart"

    or something like that...

And I think the "by the way" part should be: Past the way I hope you don't mind Watch the letter sink/say to see this through

although that doesn't make much sense...it's what I think they say....

I think this song is brilliant. I like all of Buffy Clyro's songs.. but this is one of the best.

when I first heard it, I couldnt stand the way they sang 'Get Up, Get Up, Get Over', but the emotion in his voice as he sings 'take me to your blackened sky' more than makes up for it.

fools, those aren't the lyrics, its

Look at slow motion, asleep at the door Next to destruction, reach for the sores

Get up, get up, get over, take me to your blackened sky Get up, get up, get over, take me to your blackened sky

Sink with your wasted dreams when you can Find time to console them, become what I am If you submit to all the hopes you’ve made Down, through your heart

Get up, get up, get over, take me to your blackened sky Get up, get up, get over, take me to your blackened sky

Passed away, I hope you don’t mind, what’s a little sin to see us through

If you want it, get it, go and break my heart, take me to your blackened sky If you want it, get it, go and break my heart, take me to your blackened sky

Passed away, I hope you don’t mind, what’s a little sin to see us through If you wanna get it, come and break my heart, take me to your blackened sky

don't know what significance this is of but the title is from a line in the book "choke" by chuck palahniuk. fantastic book, fantastic song. i agree with darkmongoose about how he sings the lines though.

This is my favorite biffy song and it will always mean alot to me, I love it cause I often find it hard to find the meaning in Biffy songs, they kind of let you make your own.

Ministry
Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
