ARCADIA

Captain America, where are you now?
Minuteman, please show me how
To wash this blood from my hands, make it go away
The evils of my forefathers pale to those today

Sins of gods run through the head, a second genesis
Some have called it ignorance, others have called it bliss
I've done my time, liberate me
I have done my penance, inebriate me

The truth of it all
The truth of it all
Inebriate me
Inebriate me

General CommentI think he is saying that once he has found out about the truth of how the world is he does not want to face it because the future is so bleak and therefore says inebriate me to forget about it. "The evils of my forefathers pale to those today" could refer to anything like slavery, the crusades w/e. "Sins of gods run through the head, a second genesis" is about all the bad religion has done in the world. "Some have called it ignorance, others have called it bliss" could mean that some people are ignorant and some aren't but in the end it doesn't matter because humans as a whole have been greedy and self destructive. Pretty powerful lyrics. then the ending he says
    The truth of it all
    The truth of it all
    Inebriate me
    Inebriate me
He doesn't want to face ow fucked up the world is and therefore wants to get inebriated to cope or not deal with it / face it.

General CommentI can't tell what he's implying with "inebriate me".

Could he be implying that he's done his penance in not being ignorant? And that he wants the escape or liberation of being inebriated?

Or could he be implying that the masses are generally drunken and obliviously blissful in their inebriation?
