Do, do, do, do
Do, do, do, do
Do, do, do
Do, do, do, do
(Do, do, do, do, do, do, hey)
Do, do, do, do
Do, do, do, do (ooh)
Do, do, do
Do, do, do, do
(Oh yeah-yeah, yeah)

I like the way I feel, mm
The way you keep it real, yeah
So many simple things (so many simple things)
That you don't know the joy you bring
I like how you make me weak
When we hang out, we're so happy
I never want it to end (and I know)
I know that we'll always be down to be together
'Cause that's how I want it to be

Any time you're feelin' down
I will always be around
Know that (I'm always for you, babe)
You know that (not goin' nowhere, babe)
You don't have to go nowhere
I will always be right here
Know that (I'm always for you, babe)
You know that (not goin' nowhere, babe)

I'm crazy 'bout the way (you know, that I'm crazy)
You let me do my thing
So many reasons why (so many reasons why)
I want you in my life (I like)
I like how you and me
No doubt about we're meant to be
I never want it to end (and I know)
I know that we'll always be down to be together
That's how I want it to be, so

No doubt about
I got ya back
(Can't no one come between us)
Together, we're
Forever, babe
(In love, so high)

Any time you're feelin' down
I will always be around
Know that (I'm always for you, babe)
You know that (not goin' nowhere, baby)
You don't have to go nowhere
I will always be right here
Know that (I'm always for you, babe)
You know that (not goin' nowhere, baby)

Do, do, do, do
Do, do, do, do
Do, do, do
Do, do, do, do
Know that
(I'm always for you, baby)
Do, do, do, do
Do, do, do, do
Do, do, do
Do, do, do, do
Know that
(Ain't goin' nowhere, baby)
You know that
(Oh)

Any time you're feelin' down
I will always be around ('cause I'll always be)
Know that (any time you're feelin' down)
You know that (whoa-ooh)
You don't have to go nowhere (don't you go nowhere)
I will always be right here (I'll be right here)
Know that (I'll be right here)
You know that (for you, whoa-oh)
Any time you're feelin' down (oh)
I will always be around (down)
Know that (oh-ooh oh)
You know that (you know that)
You don't have to go nowhere
I will always be right here
Know that (I'm always for you, babe)
You know that (not goin' nowhere, baby)
Any time you're feelin' down (oh-ooh)
I will always be around
Know that (know that, know that)
You know that (know that, know that, know that)
You don't have to go nowhere (oh-ooh)
I will always be right here (oh-ooh)
Know that (no, no, no, no)
You know that (no, no, no, no-ooh)
Any time you're feelin' down
I will always be around
Know that (do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do)
You know that (do, do, do, do, do, do, do)
You don't have to go nowhere
I will always be right here
Know that (do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do)
You know that (do, do, do, do, do, do, do)

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
