I close my door at night
But they get in all right
And she turns on the light

I held her hands so tight
'Cause words don't come out right
And she sees things at night

Me, I'm closer to the door
I don't get scared no more
But I don't know the score

If I could hold them in my hand
I'd make them understand
I'm not a haunted mind
I'm not a thoughtless kind

If I could put them in a jar
I know they wouldn't scar
I'd do it if I could
I hope you know I would

I close my door at night
But she gets in all right
So I turn on the light

I held her hand too tight
Too hard to make it right
So I could sleep at night

If I could hold them in my hand
I'd make them understand
I'm not a haunted mind
I'm not a thoughtless kind

If I could put them in a jar
I know they wouldn't scar
I'd do it if I could
I hope you know I would

I'd do it if I could
I hope you know I would
I'd do it if I could
I hope you know I would
I'd do it if I could
I hope you know I would

    My Interpretation

I think this song is talking about a girl having terrible nightmares. And how he would do anything to make them stop, but he cant even find the right words to say to make it better so he just holds her hand all night to show her that he is there for her.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
