I close my door at night
But they get in all right
And she turns on the light

I held her hands so tight
'Cause words don't come out right
And she sees things at night

Me, I'm closer to the door
I don't get scared no more
But I don't know the score

If I could hold them in my hand
I'd make them understand
I'm not a haunted mind
I'm not a thoughtless kind

If I could put them in a jar
I know they wouldn't scar
I'd do it if I could
I hope you know I would

I close my door at night
But she gets in all right
So I turn on the light

I held her hand too tight
Too hard to make it right
So I could sleep at night

If I could hold them in my hand
I'd make them understand
I'm not a haunted mind
I'm not a thoughtless kind

If I could put them in a jar
I know they wouldn't scar
I'd do it if I could
I hope you know I would

I'd do it if I could
I hope you know I would
I'd do it if I could
I hope you know I would
I'd do it if I could
I hope you know I would

    My Interpretation

I think this song is talking about a girl having terrible nightmares. And how he would do anything to make them stop, but he cant even find the right words to say to make it better so he just holds her hand all night to show her that he is there for her.

    My Interpretation

I think this song is about someone struggling with their feelings. They don't wanna face the idea of falling for someone. They're terrified of loving and getting hurt and don't know how to handle it. They don't know how to show it and don't want to show it because they're scared of being hurt. When he says "I close my door at night but she gets in alright" It's like he's trying not to fall for her or think about her but she is all he can think about. This part "I held her hand too tight too hard to make it right" is how he's trying to show her that he has feelings for her and cares about her by holding her hand cause he doesn't know how to express himself in words. It's a really beautiful song. It was perfect for Jordan in my so called life. One of my favorite scenes.

This song is from the most romantic scene in television history. In My-So called Life, when Jordan takes Angela's hand. I love this song. It is pretty.

i gotta admit the only reason i ever heard of this band was because of my so-called life...and by the way they were also the guest stars, they were the band that played at the party. but then i learned that they opened for counting crows in one of their concerts, and then hey i was hooked on the lads.

My So-Called Life is the best teen show ever. Everytime I hear this song I picture Jordan grabbing Angela's hand to hold. I love this song and My So-Called Life.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
