Here today
And gone tomorrow
Crack the bone, get to the marrow
To be the bee
And the flower
Before the sweetness turns to sour

What we have we're gonna keep, always
What we've lost we don't need, always
What is it that won't let you sleep, always
Be the arrow
And the target
Put your head over the parapet
Be uncool
Yes, be awkward
And don't look in the obvious place
The soul needs beautiful a soul mate

Get down off your holy cloud, always
God will not deal with the proud, always
Well if you dream then dream out loud, always
Eternally yours, always

I want you
I want you
I want you

Touching the other side
I wanted to be in love
I wanted to call

You say come to know yourself, always
Don't find yourself in someone else, always
And always wear a safety belt, always
Wait for me I'm running late, always
This is the moment that we share, for always
Turn each song into a prayer, always
Now and forever
For always
For always
For always
For always

The meaning is pretty clear to me - prepare yourself for the love of your life by letting go of your pride and ego. I'd be suprised if it meant anything other.

A couple of U2isms that found their way into other songs. I'm glad it became "Beautiful Day," though. I think it's amazing how they can rearrange a prototype like "Always" and "Native Son" into something entirely different.

This song is truly wonderful. It’s about sharing your all with the one you adore. The bee/flower and arrow/target verses embody giving and receiving equally in a relationship. The song emphasizes that we take chances, step out of our comfort zones, and think outside the box when it comes to love. It’s undoubtedly the only way to build a strong connection between two souls.

I love that line "get down off your holy cloud, god does not deal with the proud." Great song. I didn't know it was an early version of beautiful day, although i did notice the similarities the first time I heard the song.

I just love this song! I think it's about the duality in everyone: "To be the bee and the flower" and "Be the arrow and the target". It's an advice for everyone to analyse themselves and not to be ashamed of who they are: "Be uncool, yes, be awkward" and "Don't find yourself in someone else". My favorite part is: "Turn each song into a prayer ". It happens sometime to love a song so much and listen to it over and over again because it makes you fell better, it gives you the strength you need, it helps you just like a prayer does. It's amazing!

This song HAS become on of my prayers!

And it includes one of my favorite U2isms "so if you dream than dream out loud" to boot!

I also love the driving bass and Edge's lovely bells to counterpoint it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
