Hearts go astray, keeping hurt when they go
I went away just when you needed me so
You won't regret I'll come back beggin' you
Don't you forget
Welcome love we once knew, yeah

Open up your eyes
Then you'll realize
Here I stand with my
Everlasting love

Need you by my side
Come and be my pride
You'll never be denied
Everlasting love

From the very start
Open up your heart
Feel the love you've got
Everlasting love

This love will last forever
This love will last forever

Hearts gone astray
Keeping up when they go
I went away
Just when you needed me so
You won't regret it
I'll come back begging you
Don't you forget
Welcome love we once knew, yeah

When life really flows
No one really knows
The sun will have to show them
Everlasting love

Like the sun it shines
Endlessly it shines
You always will be mine
Eternal love

Whenever love went wrong
Ours would still be strong
We'd have our own
Everlasting love

This love will last forever
This love will last forever

Open up your eyes
Then you'll realize
Here I stand with my
Everlasting love

Need you by my side
Come and be my pride
Never be denied
Everlasting love

From the very start
Open up your heart
Feel the love you've got

Everlasting love
Everlasting love
Everlasting love
Everlasting love
Everlasting love

I think its about a guy who wasn't there for the girl he loved when she really needed him and he's realised the error of his ways and is begging her to accept his love for her again and forgive him.

Did you know this song was used for the trailer for the movie Wimbledon with Paul Bettany and Kirsten Dunst? Really good cover in my opinion, the guitar is very good, makes it sound rather happy!

The original is by Love Affair, a British pop band of the '60s. I like both versions of it.

this song has been covered three million other times, but done by U2 i find it OK. all the other versions, including the original, are annoying to me (sorry :D) i still do not like the song, but somehow it seems a bit better done by U2.

I think U2 has done the best cover of this song. The guitar in it just makes me smile!

I absolutely love this song! I think this is one of U2's best even though it's a cover, and the guitars sound great.

the song is easy to play on the guitar. you tune the guitar down half a step, and the chords and rhythms not that hard. i'll say that the Edge and Bono are a very good team in themselves. at the core you hear the dreamy, melancholic and almost distorted sounds of u2 and it meshes well with bono's lyrics, they always seem to be bittersweet lyrics. hmm.

My dad once made fun of me because for a time I was thoght that U2 wrote this song but I looked it up and found that some one else had wrote it, so to poke fun at me my dad said, "That was a good cover that and their cover of 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.'" After he said that I waited a minute and said, "Hay! They wrote that song, I think..." My dad nearly laughed out of his set.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
