In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
Haven't stopped your smoking yet
So I'll share your cigarette
Just to feel it in my fingers
Walk around 'til 3 am
Tell me what I know again
To keep myself from second guessing
All my silver dreams bring me to you
Hold the summer in your hands
'Til the summer turns to sand
We were staring at our ceilings
Thinking of what we'd give to have one more day of sun,
One day of sun
Silver dreams bring me to you
Silver dreams bring me to you
Silver dreams bring me to you
So I'll share your cigarette
Just to feel it in my fingers
Walk around 'til 3 am
Tell me what I know again
To keep myself from second guessing
All my silver dreams bring me to you
Hold the summer in your hands
'Til the summer turns to sand
We were staring at our ceilings
Thinking of what we'd give to have one more day of sun,
One day of sun
Silver dreams bring me to you
Silver dreams bring me to you
Silver dreams bring me to you

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I connected with this song as it kind of describes a lot of what I have felt.

All my silver dreams bring me to you
This is the idea of thinking about the other person and finding your thoughts with them when you are not together. Hold the summer in your hands 'Til the summer turns to sand We were staring at our ceilings Thinking of what we'd give to have one more day of sun One day of sun
This is wanting to remain or go back to the time when they were happy together and wanting that back. Whilst you're with someone you don't think of the way its going to end. You don't know what you've had until it is gone.
Great song
My favourite song off the new album. I just can't get enough of that hook!
Oh, ABSOLUTELY my favorite, too! I have to force myself into not playing over and over and over. :)
As for a song meaning, (bear in mind I'm not the best at this stuff) I think it's about a girl/significant other that the singer's clinging onto anyway he can.
I was watching a podcast and Taylor introduced this song saying something like the song is about staring up at your ceiling when you're laying in bed at night.
@Lalanote Whoa. Deep. LOL. I'll try to finish that thought here by saying what the narrator thinks about when he's staring at the ceiling is how this couple's love once was and the state it's in currently, which is decrepit and crumbling... (Perhaps what his ceiling looked like if he lived in an older house.)
