The wall that I have built to keep you out is starting to rust
Because everything around me just reminds me of us
I am an addict for dramatics, black hair and pale skin
Yet I'm still collecting bones, but that's why closets are for skeletons

Undress your body, hold it over my head
Because you know that if you knock then I will always let you in
I've been numb for so long that I forgot how to feel
So I don't care if it will break my heart, just fuck me 'til we disappear

You never said you'd hurt me
Now this is all that we have left
You were supposed save me from myself

The wall that I have to keep you out has has crumbled to dust
And I hope that every thing you see reminds you of us
I've been gone for so long that I forgot what is real
So I don't care if I will miss you, please just fuck me till disappear

You never said you'd hurt me
Now this is all that we have left
You were supposed save me from myself

You said you'd never love me
But look how hard someone can fall
I was supposed to save you from yourself

Now the sky is on fire and we lie wide awake
There is no other way than to make this mistake
We can't control who we hurt, so we fuck the pain away

So put all your pride, all your guilt into me
And suck the breath from my lungs, I'll swallow your hate
We can't control how we hurt so we fuck the pain away

    My Interpretation

my whole interpretation is that in the case, Chris is/was with somebody whom he fully submitted himself to physically and emotionally. he gave everything he could but it wasn't acknowledged or appreciated, but yet again all he knew was that person because that's what he dedicated himself and all his thoughts/emotions to. something might have happened that proved her unloyalty, or how he was putting in more than her etc. he know's he's been misused but also knows that there's no way he could let go of her. u do think the 'undress your body' etc IS in a literal sense because she just has sex with him whereas he feels more. this scenario is justified from contemptress - "I can't stop crawling to your doorstep every time you beckon". "fuck the pain away" they literally are fucking the pain away. they have sex but that's all that is between them now since the relationship is ruined. he's holding on to her by the physical relationship but is completely aware that it's unhealthy. he hates her and the situation but knows that he somehow, for whatever reason still loves her. the sex aspect is in a way his release of emotions. "put all of your pride all your guilt into me" everything they do wrong or all their awful feelings go into that """passionate""" moment that they just keep waiting and moping around for. they're numb to what's going on, because he knows all he wants is her and that's the only and easiest way he can get her. in a way, their sex is the only stable thing about them and they have comfort in it because he loves her lingrence, but they lowkey hate eachother. and it's really sad. this is the only song that makes me cry every single time I hear it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
