The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.
I feel I'm not the same
I'm alive but something changes
That every leave that is falling to the ground
It's still alive, but not the same
Oh no... oh no...
This all the times we all feel pain
A helping hand, would be nice to feel again
For a simple man, who's down on his knees so I'm bagging you please
I want you help me understand
Come on and shine, get out of need, I need a friend that help to seek
Cause everytimes I open my eyes, I know
I don't wanna wake up and make the same mistakes
It happens to me all the time,
If I lie I'll move it all if I stand or even fall
I've got to lay it all on the line
I see a child and playing, I feel the struggle through each and everything
Eventhough I know that, you're miles away I just stand and hear you say
Hello... I get so lost, in my disease, I'm missing precious memmories
Everytimes I open my eyes, I know
I don't wanna wake up and make the same mistakes
It happens to me all the time,
If I lie I'll move it all if I stand or even fall
I've got to lay it all on the line
I swear this time, I'll get it right
And I swear this time, I gonna let it all... lie on the line... on the
line
Oohh We get so lost, and what to beast, we live and die, we tried to please
But, everytime I open my eyes, I know
I don't wanna wake up and make the same mistakes
It happens to me all the time,
If I lie I'll move it all if I stand or even fall
I've got to lay it all on the line
Oh no... hmmm...
I'm alive but something changes
That every leave that is falling to the ground
It's still alive, but not the same
Oh no... oh no...

A helping hand, would be nice to feel again
For a simple man, who's down on his knees so I'm bagging you please

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
