Your too much
You'll take any more than you'll have to
Have you lost touch
With the ones you adore and sought after
And you don't know why
Yeah, they put a bullet through your heart
And told you not to cry
You know life should be beautiful
So come on out the shadows for while

I wanna know where you go
When your dreaming
I wanna see what you see
With your eyes closed
And when it all goes down
Then we'll
Have a place to run
Cause I don't know when I can't tell
What your thinking

So we'll just drive
In the night
Till we find
Some kind of home

I swear I never mentioned this to anyone
So go on you can tell me what it is
You see I am barely hanging on to you
And the way I feel yeah somethings got to give

I wanna know where you go
When your dreaming
I wanna see what you see
With your eyes closed
And when it all goes down
Then we'll
Have a place to run
Cause I don't know when I can't tell
What your thinking

So we'll just drive
In the night
Till we find
Some kind of home

?You'll find enough to walk a line in pieces?
You don't have to do this on your own
??
You don't have to do this alone

I wanna know where you go
When your dreaming
I wanna see what you see
With your eyes closed
And when it all goes down
Then we'll
Have a place to run
Cause I don't know when I can't tell
What your thinking

So we'll just drive
In the night
Till we find
Some kind of home

I wanna know where you go
When your dreaming
I wanna see what you see
With your eyes closed
And when it all goes down
Then we'll
Have a place to run
Cause I don't know when I can't tell
What your thinking

Yeah
Some kind of home

Some of these lyrics are wrong. It's "You don't say much, you don't say any more than you have to", "We'll just drive through the night", and "When it all goes down, will you have a place to run?"

After having said that... This song means a lot to me. I can relate to nearly every line. "You don't say much, you don't say any more than you have to"- Me all over.

"Have you lost touch with the ones you adored and sought after?" the narrator asks. He's assuming this because the woman does not talk any more than she has to, closing herself off from everyone. "And you don't know why they put a ullet through your heart and told you not to cry"- Her life causes her great stress and pain, reminiscent to a bullet through the heart. Of course, it's not as bad as it seems to her, but she's depressed and in that state, everything hurts to her. So the narrator urges her, "You know life should be beautiful, so come on out of your shadow for a while." He wants her to ease up a little in life and to not take everything so harshly. Life is meant for enjoying. It should be beautiful.

He continues to tell her, "I want to know where you go when you're dreaming, I want to see what you see when your eyes close." (I wish someone felt that way for me.) "And when it all goes down, will you have a place to run?" When the world collapses- when life gets too hard to bear, who can she turn to? He wants her to choose him, saying he's provided a place for her. "Cause I don't know and I can't tell what you're thinking-" again, the not talking much; she won't confide her prolems to him- "so we'll just drive through the night till we find some kind of home." I'm leaving this line alone for now because I don't know if it's metaphoric or not.

The narrator tells the woman, "I swear I'll never mention this to anyone, so go on, you can tell me what it is." He is trying to get her to unlock the thoughts and secrets in her head and tell him what;s trouling her. "You see I, I'm barely hanging on here"- he's curious, wanting to be inside her head- "and the way I feel, something's gotta give." Something is going to have to give way- she can't keep all that pressure inside herself.

The narrator swears to her that he knows how she feels- "It's hard enough to walk a line in pieces, but you don't have to do this on your own." He tells her it doesn't need to be done all at once- "We can pass the time reading signs along the freeway. You don't have to do this on your own."

If I ever meet Thriving Ivory, I'm going to tell them how much this song means to me, how it helped me, and the secrets I still harbor in my head, because the lyrics honestly make me want to tell someone about what I sometimes go through.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
