When's the day you start again
And when the hell does you'll get over it begin
I'm looking hard in the mirror
But I don't fit my skin
It's too much to take
It's too hard to break me
From the cell I'm in

Oh, from this moment on
I'm changing the way I feel, yeah
From this moment on
It's time to get real

'Cause I still don't know how to act
Don't know what to say
Still wear the scars like it was yesterday
But you're long gone and moved on
'Cause you're long gone
But I still don't know where to start, still finding my way
Still talk about you like it was yesterday
But you're long gone and moved on
But you're long gone, you moved on

So how'd you pick the pieces up, yeah
I'm barely used to saying me instead of us
The elephant in the room keeps scaring off the guests
It gets under my skin to see you with him
And it's not me that you're with

Oh from this moment on
I'm changing the way I feel yeah
From this moment on
It's time to get real

'Cause I still don't know how to act
Don't know what to say
Still wear the scars like it was yesterday
But you're long gone and moved on
'Cause you're long gone
But I still don't know where to start, still finding my way
Still talk about you like it was yesterday
But you're long gone and moved on
But you're long gone, you moved on

No, I can't keep thinking that you're coming back
No
'Cause I got no business knowing where you're at
No
And it's gonna be hard, yeah
'Cause I have to wanna heal yeah
And its gonna be hard, yeah
The way I feel that I have to get real

I still don't know how to act
Don't know what to say
Still wear the scars like it was yesterday
But you're long gone and moved on
But you're long gone
But I still don't know where to start, still finding my way
Still talk about you like it was yesterday
But you're long gone and moved on
But you're long gone, you moved on

But you're long gone, you moved on
But you're long gone, you moved on

i think this song is about still loving someone even after the relationship is long over. the other person has moved on & has someone else filling your place , & you still think about it like it was yesterday. you don 't know how to move on & stop loving them , even when it 's apparent that they 've already moved on & forgotten you .

I think this song is about a guy that just broke up with a girlfriend after a very long relationship. He is hoping with all of his heart that she will come back, but it is very unlikely. He can't get himself to get over her and it is still so strange for him to live his life without her. She is over him completely and he sees her going around with other guys which kills him every time.

this song is about the quote,"time heals all wounds". It's been a while since they ended their relationship, but he still feels trapped and is unable to begin to heal his wounds, despite the fact that it's been a while. she's moved on but he still hopelessly wishes her to come back to him. "still wear the scars like it was yesterday" shows how his pain is still intense and real while she is happily with someone else. basically, story of my life right now...

Sometimes one person in a breakup just can't let go.

They think of the other person all the time, speak about them, and get that feeling like their chest just dropped into their stomach when they see them in public. He tells all of this in the song, as well as a want and need to start getting over her.

I like it even though it is a little sad.

i think this song speaks of a guy who finds it hard to move on and live a new life without the girl. Moving on is one of the hardest thing to do especially when you have already made plans and imagined "forever" with that person. This is the perfect break-up song. This is better than therapy. when you read the lyrics and you feel like you can relate to it, you'll see how pathetic you are and start living your life again. the first time i heard this song, i really felt the connection. it almost felt like i was the one described in the song and i started to feel pity for myself. then with just a snap, i started thinking otherwise. i realized that i'm better off without that person and i started loving myself.

It's about a breakup where one has long moved on.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
