I need an answer
Some way to understand
This feels so convincing
And a little outta hand
So tell me one thing
Who gave you all those scars
That took away your innocence
You push away with everything you are

I can't take this anymore
I'm tired of breaking
I'm tired of breaking

I want the world to see
You sold a broken dream
You were not there for me
I was unraveling
All that we never knew
That could have been me and you
But you took everything
Now we're just here Unraveling

So here we are now
Break what's already broken
I guess I coulda seen this coming
If you'd been around
Lets tear the past wide open

I can't take this anymore
I'm tired of breaking
I'm tired of breaking

I want the world to see
You sold a broken dream
You were not there for me
I was Unraveling
All that we never knew
That could have been me and you
But you took everything
Now we're just here Unraveling

What have we become
The hopeless tonight and I think its over
We hope to find the truth still breathing
Can we survive the low

I want the world to see
You sold a broken dream
You were not there for me
I was unraveling

I want the world to see
You sold a broken dream
You were not there for me
I was unraveling
All that we never knew
That could have been me and you
But you took everything
Now we're just here unraveling

this song is about the process of how new things start coming undone. how alot of people dont understand charisma and tanning and laundry. three essentials in not sucking at life. when you get that dance going it dont matter what you do its the smoke the smoke yes the smoke there is no god but god.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
