I'm from where the magic is...
I give you what I cannot take away with me..
Have my sunlit day and moon...

I want to have a silent kiss
I want to make you mine, I´m thinking, how...
Can´t leave me now...
Stay with me somehow...

You come from where the fire is...
You give me what you could not burn the last time..
One sunless day and moon...

I want to be so close to you
to see whatever scars you carry
within your broken heart,
Mine´s your missing part...

Come with me where the magic is...
There's more than time we can share
We could join the sun and moon

If you want to...
be my lifeline for this lifetime
suffer in pleasure, forever and ever I'd like to see how
the walls around your heart will fall apart
stop resisting, let the light in
suffer in pleasure, forever and ever,
this one lifetime.

Let me take you where the magic is...
Back in time, remember the light
of the cold December moon...

I want to have a silent kiss
I want to make you mine, I´m thinking,
You can´t leave me now...
Stay with me, somehow...

Come with me where the magic is...
There is more than life that we can share
We could own the sun and moon

be my lifeline for this lifetime...
suffer in pleasure, forever and ever I'd like to see how
the walls around your heart will fall apart
stop resisting, let the light in
suffer in pleasure, forever and ever,
this one lifetime.

be my lifeline for this lifetime
suffer in pleasure, forever and ever
stop resisting, let the light in
suffer in pleasure, forever and ever,
this one lifetime.

I am feeling your face in the dark
I'm hearing you breathe in the dark
I am tasting your lips in the dark
I'm holding you close in the dark

I'll take you where the magic is
I'll give you everything I only can offer
You can have my broken midnight moon

If you give me your broken heart
and I will give you something real and golden.
We can make this life the finest art...

I come from where the magic is...
I give you what I could take away with me..
Have a sunlit day and moon...

I want to have a silent kiss
I want to make you mine, I´m thinking, how...
Can´t leave me now...
Stay with me somehow...

I am feeling your face in the dark
I'm hearing you breathe in the dark
I am tasting your lips in the dark
I'm holding you close in the dark

I think that this song describes an impossible relationship between a boy and girl who have polar opposite personalities and attitudes to life.

The boy is represented by the moon. He's a dreamer, he's sensitive and loving, his view of the world is 'magical', full of mystery and intrigue, which may explain his affection for the girl. She's represented by the sun, burning bright with intense emotions. She appears stubborn, pessimistic, protective of oneself and defensive.

Regardless, the boy sees past her fiery exterior and knows there is a kind hearted person inside. He wants her to be open with him, he wants to show her that it is possible for great things to happen in life, and that they could share happiness together. He wants to 'cure' her bitterness by showing her love ("if you give me your broken heart, I will give you something real and golden")*.

I'm guessing that the lines where the boy describes holding and kissing the girl etc are the fantasies running through his head, rather than what is actually happening. He wants to do these things with her, but out of self defence she won't let herself get close enough to anyone for it to happen.

    My two cents! -Roon

I love love love this song! I know is a love song but I'm not sure he and she are humans, I get the vibe that he's a god and she is something else or they are both gods or they are some mythological characters. So he's confesing his love her but I'm not sure if they do end up together or if she leaves him after one time.

I think it has to do with a relationship between a good being and an evil one. Maybe not so black and white, but he lives surrounded by magic and she lives surrounded by fire. Basically he tells her to share this magical world with him instead of staying in where she is. You could give this a mythological theme if you wanted to, but it could very easily be a metaphor to a real relationship. There is more tot he song... but this is the basic idea as far as I can tell.

    Song Meaning

I think ipsilonv is on the ball here. A more modern view at the story could be a man who invites a woman into a relationship, but her arrogance is blocking her from being potentially truly happy with him. I'm assuming that they end up together, as the ending chorus goes. So it's a good ending :D

    My Interpretation

I think it's the "night" inviting the "day" into a relationship

I think she has just got out from a relationship, she's depressed and dissapointed and that's the reason she's not so sure of starting a new one: "you give me what you couldn't burn the last time"

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Gentle Hour

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
