Prepare in urgency to race
Casting off the weight that burdens me
I cannot dare to force the pace
Marathon for life the road I face

Committed
determined
My gaze is set on finishing

I’m straining to extend my lead
With every evil chasing me
One day, one hour, every step

I know
I know
I fix
my eyes
Ahead

Straining on to run without remorse
Casting off mistakes that came before
In my mind I see a hallowed door
Open arm embrace, I’m reaching for...

Just like a breeze is passing me
My stammers, a distant memory
We cannot afford a glance to see
What’s gaining or what is history

"I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us." -- Phillipians 3:12-14 (NLT)

Such beautiful lyrics based upon the apostle Paul's words above. Project's haunting music combines with Schwab's words to create strong feelings of urgency and inspiration to persevere as we run the race, remaining focused on what matters above all else: our loving Savior.

I also really love the emphasis on forgetting our sins. Nothing weighs me down more than when I mourn the hypocritical mistakes I've made. But we simply have to ask forgiveness from God and from those that we've wronged and keep our eyes fixed on finishing.

    Proper lyrics:

Prepare in urgency to race, Casting off the wieght that burdens me. I cannot dare to force the pace, Marathon for life, the road I face.

Commited, Determined, My gaze is set on finishing.

I’m straining to extend the lead, As every evil chases me. One day, one hour, every step, I know, I know, I fix my eyes ahead.

Straining on to run without remorse, Casting off mistakes that came before. In my mind I see a hallowed door, Open arm embrace, I’m reaching for...

Commited, Determined, My gaze is set on finishing.

I’m straining to extend the lead, As every evil chases me. One day, one hour, every step, I know, I know, I fix my eyes ahead.

    Woahh...

Just like a breeze is passing me, My stammers, a distant memory. We cannot afford a glance to see, What’s gaining or what is history.

I'm yelling, I'm flinching, My gaze is set on finishing.

I’m straining to extend the lead, As every evil chases me. One day, one hour, every step, I know, I know, I fix my eyes ahead. [x2]

    Woahh...

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
