Some phrases in this song are hard to pick up, but I did all that I could.
-----------------------------------------------------------
We're just typos, in a great tale
Dirty ahabs
We are the white whale
We make it simple
We make it clear
In the same planet, is too near
Deepest smile, you've ever seen
Dirty underwear, the trousers are clean
Hard or easy
Choose my dear
We will stick it, In the rear
Under one God (under one God)
United we stand
But what is this thing, in my hand?
So use Hawaii
Nice and plastic
The force is with us
[...]
Don't make it simple
Don't make it clear
In the same planet, is too near
[...] are black, and so is oil
We really need it
So fuck your soil
Hard or easy
Choose my dear
We will stick it, In the rear
Under one God (under one God)
United we stand
But what is this thing, in my hand?
Under one God (under one God)
United we stand
But what is this thing, in my hand?
Under one God (under one God)
Under one God (under one God)
Under one God (under one God)
Under one God (under one God)
Under one God (under one God)
Under one God (under one God)
Under one God (under one God)
Under one God (under one God)
Under one God (under one God)

    General Comment

This song is obviously mocking the United States and our dependence on oil.

"We make it simple, we make it clear" We want our oil damn it.

"In the same planet, is too near" Possibly suggesting drilling for oil on earth is no longer a good idea, maybe look for some on other planets?

"Hard or easy, choose my dear We will stick it, In the rear" That just sounds like sex, not sure if it's relevant.

"Under one God, united me stand But what is this thing, in my hand?" Motto of the US, not sure about the hand part. Possibly a gun? Blood for oil?

"So use Hawaii, nice and plastic" Apparently Hawaii has oil, so lets drill there.

"The force is with us" Star Wars reference? Maybe relating to the US's pop culture.

"[...] are black, and so is oil, we really need it, so fuck your soil" I think it might be "some movies are black" but I'm not sure. I don't think it's relevant to the meaning anyway. Here, I'm certain they are talking about the Alaska Wildlife Refuge, and the controversy surrounding it. Should we drill there for oil or not? Well, we really need it, so fuck the wildlife/soil.

The other parts of the song(about the underwear and such) may just be relating to the sex part, but as of now I don't know what they mean.

    My Interpretation

I'm pretty sure this song is about the US and its love of oil.

"Hard or easy Choose my dear We will stick it, In the rear" We can take your oil the easy way, or the hard way.

"Under one God (under one God) United we stand" Reference to the United States

"[...] are black, and so is oil We really need it So fuck your soil" This is a reference to the Iraq war, and how "we really need your oil, so fuck your borders"

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
