"Arizona" as written by Cassadee Pope, David Katz, Mike Gentile and Sam Hollander....
It took two days
For me to figure out
This isn't working out
But I lost my way

I drove all night
Just to be with you
But you weren't worth the view
I gotta hit the brakes

Now you know
Get up and go

Arizona, Arizona
A car wreck on the highway
Now you're burning
By the side of the road

Arizona, Arizona
Is a million miles from Florida
Now you're history
I'm stranded, get me out, I'm going home

Deep in your soul
Lies a lonely heart
That only ever pumps
For you alone

And I can't relate
So I gotta leave you here
I can breathe without you, dear
Just start walking away

Now you know
Get up and go

Arizona, Arizona
A car wreck on the highway
Now you're burning
By the side of the road

Arizona, Arizona
Is a million miles from Florida
Now you're history
I'm stranded, get me out, I'm going home

Tell me, how does that feel
With the Grand Canyon
Between me and you
Tell me, how does that feel
To see me waving goodbye

Took two days
For me to figure out
This isn't working out
I gotta hit the brakes

Arizona, Arizona
A car wreck on the highway
Now you're burning
By the side of the road

Arizona, Arizona
Is a million miles from Florida
Now you're history
I'm stranded, get me out, I'm going home

Arizona, Arizona
A car wreck on the highway
Now you're burning
By the side of the road

Arizona, Arizona
Is a million miles from Florida
Now you're history
I'm stranded, get me out, I'm going home

My Interpretationit can be a literal - long distance relationship
or there is a DISTANCE, growing between them......she tried her all, and found..he's not worth it

General CommentObvious meaning, especially since we know this band is from Florida. She, or someone in the band, loves someone who lived in Arizona, but then realized pursuing a long distance with them wasn't worth it, because they, themselves, turned out to not be worth it.

Great, catchy song. I had a long distance boyfriend who lived in California while I was still in the Midwest, and the "how does that feel with the Grand Cranyon between me and you?" line used to get me everytime.

General Commentokay, so i live in arizona, and i've seen them twice[not really willingly, they were warming up for other bands] and both times, they neglected to play this song, which i, quite frankly, is very dumb. if the song is called Arizona, you should play it in Arizona. stupid. its a catchy song, well, all of their songs are catchy, but i think its too poppy and none of their lyrics are really real. its like when they write songs, there isn't any real meaning behind it.

as for this song, its pretty obvious what its about. she lives in florida, and some guy or person she cares about lives in arizona, so she drives to see them. then she realizes its a big waste of time and that the long distance really blows and isnt working out.

General Commentheres my take at the song:
so i think that this song is about a girl (probably cassadee) who met a boy who lives in arizona and she really thought that she liked him and had a lot of feelings for him. she decided to drive out to go see him, but then when she got there, she realized he wasn't anything that she thought he was, which completely bummed her out. the thing though that makes me think it may be about a long distance relationship though is the part that says "Tell me, how does that feel With the Grand Canyon Between me and you?"

General CommentI think this is suppose to be about a literal distance between two people, a long distance relationship. It makes sense because Cassadee is from Florida. It's basically her telling a guy (who she probably wasn't with for very long or only saw a couple of times) that he's just not who she thought he was in the beginning. Maybe he ended up being with another girl or he was mean in the end, but the song is fairly easy to figure out, which is what I like about HM's music. It's simple, it makes sense, and it's not cryptic or ridiculous. Love this song so much.
