Untouchable like a distant diamond sky
I'm reaching out and I just can't tell you why
I'm caught up in you
I'm caught up in you

Untouchable, burning brighter than the sun
And when you're close, I feel like coming undone

In the middle of the night, when I'm in this dream
It's like a million little stars spelling out your name
You gotta come on, come on
Say that we'll be together
Come on, come on
Little taste of heaven

Oh, oh
It's half full and I won't wait here all day
I know you're saying that you'd be here anyway

But you're untouchable, burning brighter than the sun
And now that you're close I feel like coming undone

In the middle of the night, when I'm in this dream
It's like a million little stars spelling out your name
You gotta come on, come on
Say that we'll be together
Come on, come on, oh

In the middle of the night, we can form this dream
I wanna feel you by my side, standing next to me
You gotta come on, come on
Say that we'll be together
Come on, come on
Little taste of heaven

I'm caught up in you
Oh, oh

But you're untouchable, burning brighter than the sun
Now that you're close I feel like coming undone

In the middle of the night, when I'm in this dream
It's like a million little stars spelling out your name
You gotta come on, come on
Say that we'll be together
Come on, come on
Oh, oh, oh

In the middle of the night, when I'm in this dream
It's like a million little stars spelling out your name
You gotta, come on, come on
Say that we'll be together
Come on, come on
Come on

In the middle of the night, we can form this dream
I wanna feel you by my side, standing next to me
You gotta come on, come on
Say that we'll be together
Come on, come on
Little taste of heaven

Oh, oh
Oh
Oh

And in the middle of the night, when I'm in this dream
It's like a million little stars spellin' out your name
You gotta come on, come on
Oh, come on, come on
Come on, come on
Oh, oh, oh, oh

Like a million little stars
Spellin' out your name
They're spellin' out your name
Oh

I know this is a cover song... but I like her version better so... To me, this song is basically about wanting someone that in theory is 'close' to you, or 'you have', but in reality you don't. You want the person so bad... but you know you can't have them. And once you realize that it's pointless, you try to move on before you're left heartbroken... but the plan gets washed away as soon as you see them, and once again, your left dreaming about something thats untouchable. So, like I said... in theory, this person is yours... and once you tell them that you can't just live with half a relationship and they don't feel the same way back they way they should, they tell you its not true. That if you leave they'll wait for you because they need you the same way too... but they never did nor will they ever. And once again, your left dreaming about something thats untouchable.

This song helped me alot. My best friend asked me why i liked this one guy and i couldnt explain to her why. i still cant if im honest! But this song says it all. she doesnt know why she has fallen for him and cant explain why. its a mystery to her let alone everyone else yet she still dreams of him and wants him to be hers. just shows that not only one person feels like this

She gets co-writing credit on her version of this song and it's easy to see why: she gave it a completely different arrangement (and melody, in fact).

Calling it a cover is a bit misleading because her writing and arranging skills are showcased on this track perhaps more clearly than anywhere else.

i know this isn't the original, but taylor makes when it sounds as if it should be. it makes so much sense being sang this way, compared to the way it sounds when it's done by the original artis, luna halo. taylor swift is incredible.

this song is so beautiful, especially with taylor singing it.

there is someone special and i feel so connected to him. im "caught up in you". only thinking about him, and its so sudden too. first he was a good friend, someone funny and fun to be around and all of a sudden " a million little stars are spelling out his name". it just hit me.

its not so much that he is unattainable but that i thrive on his actions toward me.

"untouchable, burning brighter than the sun. and now thats youre close i feel like coming undone" when they are close, its so hard to get it together because its like my breath is taken away by how amazing he is. its that gooey feeling in you knees you get when youre around someone you love.

and its real. hes only amazing to me, i see beauty in him thats invisible to others

i feel so close to having him but then at times it feels like hes a million miles away

    so beautiful.

In my opinion, this song is about falling hard for someone you know in reality you can have. You try to forget about them and move on, but you always get caught up in him and fall even harder. I can defiently relate. Maybe it's about the same person as "Superstar", seeing that they are both sort of about the same thing? Regardless, it's a great song. Oerfect for slow-dancing. I haven't heard the original, but I LOVE Taylor's version, and she always does exceptional covers.

that was a beautiful interpretation of this song, shastt, i completely agree with you, im in a situation like that now, i hate it.

I think its about a "you always want what you can have" kinda thing. She knows she wants him, and that she cant have him, but she really doesnt know why she wants him in the first place, "Can't tell you why, I'm caught up in you"...Because of the fact that he is "untouchable" makes her want him the most

this is so my sichuation! i love this this guy and he said he used 2 love me. and i am "close" to him and "have him" because he is my best guy friend. but he is in love with one of my other best friends and she loes him. the rule is to never date a friends ex so even when they break up i will never have him. it kills me to think about how much i love him. but he is completely untouchable forever. i will never get 2 kiss kim or hold him like he really is mine

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
