"Wake Up Call" as written by Adam Levine and James Valentine....
I didn't hear what you were saying
I live on raw emotion, baby
I answer questions, never maybe
And I'm not kind if you betray me
So, who the hell are you to save me?
I never would have made it, babe

If you needed love
Well, then, ask for love
Could have given love
Now I'm taking love
And it's not my fault
'Cause you both deserve
What's coming now
So don't say a word

Wake up call
Caught you in the morning with another one in my bed
Don't you care about me anymore?
Don't you care about me?
I don't think so
Six foot tall
Came without a warning, so I had to shoot him dead
He won't come around here anymore
Come around here?
I don't think so

Would have bled to make you happy
You didn't need to treat me that way
And now you beat me at my own game
And now I'm finally sleeping soundly
And your lover's screaming loudly
I hear a sound and hit the ground

If you needed love
Well, then, ask for love
Could have given love
Now I'm taking love
And it's not my fault
'Cause you both deserve
What's coming now
So don't say a word

Wake up call
Caught you in the morning with another one in my bed
Don't you care about me anymore?
Don't you care about me?
I don't think so
Six foot tall
Came without a warning, so I had to shoot him dead
He won't come around here anymore
Come around here?
I don't feel so bad
I don't feel so bad
I don't feel so bad

I'm so sorry, darling
Did I do the wrong thing?
Oh, what was I thinking?
Is his heart still beating?

Whoa, oh, oh

Wake up call
Caught you in the morning with another one in my bed
Don't you care about me anymore?
Don't you care about me?
I don't think so
Six foot tall
Came without a warning, so I had to shoot him dead
He won't come around here anymore
Come around here?
I don't feel so bad

Wake up call
Caught you in the morning with another one in my bed
Don't you care about me anymore?
Don't you care about me?
I don't think so
Six foot tall
Came without a warning, so I had to shoot him dead
He won't come around here anymore, no
He won't come around here?
I don't feel so bad

(Wake up call)
(Caught you in the morning with another one in my bed)
(Don't you care about me anymore?)
(Don't you care about me?)
(I don't feel so bad)
(Wake up call)
(Caught you in the morning with another one in my bed)
(Don't you care about me anymore)

General CommentHave any of you noticed how right after he says "So don't say a word", and then Matt on the drums makes the drums sound like a gunshot. I love that, just noticed it when i listened to it last.

I'll be so excited when this becomes a single. this is an awesome album.

General CommentI agree with SparksOfGold & Skyline Evo8. I think he was being totally sarcastic in that last verse. Like, "oops, should I not of done that? Oops, his heart's still beating." kind of like he's like 'crap, i meant to kill him'
    I love this song.

General CommentOoh, what a good single. I only really *listened* to this song today and the lyrics frightened me, but in a good way. They haven't lost their touch.

General CommentWithout the catchy hooks and poppy beat this would be one hell of a dark song!

The guy gives his girl a warning about what he could be capable of if she "betray"s him with another man. She obviously doesn't pay too much attention to this because he goes on to find her in bed with some other guy. In a crazed fit of jealousy he shoots him.
He is satisfied by doing so with the sinister assurance that "he won't come around here anymore". He tries to convinces himself that he doesn't "feel so bad", but then he starts regretting what he's done: "Did I do the wrong thing? / Oh, what was i thinking?".

Very dramatic & very Hollywood, with the potential for an awesome music video.

General CommentThis was the first song of their new album I got really attached too. I agree with the others who said it was a dark song, as it clearly is. I have a great, heart-pumping memory of me running in the rain while this song was playing. It felt good.

I'm still trying to decide whether the last verse is sarcastic or not. I guess we'll just have to wait for the music video to see.
