1 and 3, what happened to the 2?
What about the lies they're telling you?
The first is filled with opulence and luxury.
The third is full of starvation and poverty.

Think about the values of the new world order.
A microcosm with commercials crossing borders.
Yeah.

The 1st and 3rd, I'm growing tired of the,
The 1st and 3rd, don't know how much longer I can,
Take the stress, like chasing spirits in the dark.

3 and 1 there's so much we've been through.
Broken promises will have to do.
There's so much in between the right and wrong.
It's time we looked around at what's been going on.

Think about the values of the new world order.
A microcosm with commercials crossing borders.
Yeah.

The 1st and 3rd, I'm growing tired of the,
The 1st and 3rd, don't know how much longer I can,
Take the stress, like chasing spirits in the dark.

We're possessed, obsessed.
In turn we're more depressed.
We're doomed, consumed.
We gotta get that monkey off our backs.
Affluenza, affluenza.

Think about the values of the new world order.
A microcosm with commercials crossing borders.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

The 1st and 3rd, I'm growing tired of the,
The 1st and 3rd, don't know how much longer I can,
Take the stress, like chasing spirits in the dark.
Like chasing spirits in the dark.
Yeah, yeah.

I think this is about the difference between 1st and 3rd world countries. We have the money to do it, so why don't we try harder to save others?

i see that point. i take it more as the difference between the lower and middle class too. my wife is pregnant and we're barely middle class. it sucks because the state wont help and im not rich. the true working class always gets screwed while the crackhead mom gets her 8 kids paid for.

I love this song and the message. Isn't it "We gotta get that monkey off our backs"? Either way works. I guess I'll have to find my CD case and check if it has lyrics.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
