We started off by talking about the tattoos on her back.
And the bands that we both hate.
Anything to make the moment last.
Hoping you might spend the night
And watch our feelings collide.
It seems like summer's just a state of mind.

I'm gonna make sure we never fall apart.
But you're not trying hard enough
So this can last forever.

Remember
Crashing parties just to get our drinks for free.
You would touch your skirt and tell me you had nothing on underneath.
But all these memories are burning me alive.
Knowing you and I might never get this right.
You said this promise wasn't fading through.
I suffocate myself to sleep
With one more night of silence next to...
You.

I'm gonna make sure we never fall apart.
But you're not trying hard enough.
So this can last forever.
I'll give my best shot, holding onto what we got.
I need to tell her that I'm ready
Whether she's ready or not.

Ready or not, or not.
Well are you ready or not?
(Well are you ready or not?)

I'm ready...
I'm ready...

We've tried
To find
That all walls we built up...
Were fake.

Cause you're slipping away.
Like a car on ice,
We're spinning out of control.
Like an open wound,
We need some time to heal.
Like a cigarette,
Her pleasure's worth the risk.
Like a crowded room,
My presence won't be missed.
She don't care.
And it's not fair.
That I can't forget you
Just knowing I let you out of my life.
But I'm moving on...
She's moving on.

Soon I'll be gone!
I'll be a million miles away.
I need to see you.
Need to touch you.
Like we used to mis believe.
And if your picture's worth a thousand words,
I cut open my vocal cords
For one more night of silence next to you.
Just to spend another night with you!

I'm gonna make sure we never fall apart.
But you're not trying hard enough.
So this can last forever.
I'll give my best shot, holding onto what we got.
I need to tell her that I'm ready
Whether she's ready or not.

Well are you ready or not?

(girl speaking) we say all these words, we make all these promises but are we to know, can we really make this last? forever?

couple corrections: "So this can last forever." i believe it should be: "So this can't last forever," as that would make much more sense, and i'm pretty sure that's what ihear, too.

"You said this promise wasn't fading through. I suffocate myself to sleep With one more night of silence next to... You." Should be: "If this promise was a fading dream, I'd suffocate myself to sleep For one more night of silence next to... You."

"I'll give my best shot, holding onto what we got." what WE'VE got.

"We've tried To find That all walls we built up...... Were fake."; We've tried too hard (?)

however, these are the best lyrics i've been able to find sofar, so yeaa.

i love this song... i think it's about a relationship where the singer feels as though he's the only one making an effort anymore, but he's willing to try.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
