What I Should Have Learned in Study Hall Lyrics

Well I waited till you packed your bags,
Took a picture and hoped it would last,
With you all the way through,
All the nights you and I couldn’t have.

Now I know that it shouldn’t be this hard,
But you’ve moved yourself too damn far.
And I won’t suffice,
When there’s two thousand miles to drive.

I’m thinking it over,
I’m thinking of all the days and nights
We would spend laughing.
Are you happy,

In Colorado, with the mountains,
Did you like them?
Did you find what you’re looking for?
Because I’m still searching for the life we were living before.

You seem so young and so full of life,
Well I’m getting older with each hopeless night.
You’re still always on my mind,
Are we through this time?

Well angels should ask you,
What you’re doing with me.
I’m an apple that slipped too far from the tree.
But I’m burning to rot away silently,
As you grow into something more promising.

And now we’ve got these god damn words,
That mean nothing when I can’t see your face,
Or have your body for touching.
And everything I eat,
It tastes like you,
So what are you trying to prove,

In Colorado, with the mountains,
Did you like them?
Did you find what you’re looking for?
Because I’m still searching for the life we were living before.

And if I dropped everything and book a flight,
Flown into Denver that night we would crash at night,
Cuz the odds are against us,
So all bets are off,
Just know you meant more than I ever could want.

I’m giving up . . .
Just giving you up . . .

If just for one more night,
Then I’ll be happy to walk away.
You could put on that dress you know I love,
Taking it ?
You always knew what I liked.
They base movies off our lives but somehow they wouldn’t suffice.

You’ve got moves and abuse them,
And I’ve got pictures to prove enough,
And all the way, ?
You’re burning every note I ever sent,
So I’ll find you,

In Colorado, with the mountains,
Did you like them?
Did you find what you’re looking for?
Because I’m still searching for the life we were living before.

And if I dropped everything and book a flight,
Flown into Denver that night we would crash at night,
Cuz the odds are against us,
So all bets are off,
Just know you meant more than I ever could want.

I've listened to the songs a few times through, and I think I've got the parts that you were missing. They may be a little off, though...after all, I did have to listen through the song to figure them out. I edited it a little bit, too, so that it looks more grammatically correct. So here it is...

@thisismesoshutup I think it's because like with "the greatest story ever told" there are 2 versions of this song.

I think this song is about a girl moving away, obviously. The guy is till very much in love with this girl and he misses how things were when she was with him. It's like she wants to forget about him, but he doesn't even though he knows that nothing will ever happen between them again.

^^^^ Also, I think the girl is changing and the guy is too stuck on being the same.

Kinda reminds me of when Heidi went to Colorado and Spencer followed her (in The Hills).

"But I'm burning to rot away silently"

I think it may be "learning" Not really sure.

"And if I dropped everything and booked a flight, Flown into Denver that night, we would crash at night."

"From Logan to Denver, then my plane would crash that night." Logan is an airport in Boston, where the band is from.

"You always knew what I liked. They'd base movies off our lives but somehow they wouldn't suffice."

"They base movies off our lust, but somehow they won't suffice."

"You've got moves and abuse them, And I've got pictures to prove enough."

"You've got moves and you use them, And I've got pictures to prove them."

Other than that, everything in thisismesoshutup's correction is right. It's really hard to find the right lyrics to INK's songs. They're an amazing band.

This song reminds me of this girl I used to like a lot last year. Then she moved away to Maine, which is roughly 2,000 miles away. I think I listened to this song non-stop for a few months straight.
