Looking out my bedroom window;
finding hope and constant lies.
Tried my hardest to just cut these strings.
These strings that hold me back.

I don't know just what he tells you
but to me, it sounds like a lie.
Following letters, following letters in lipstick.
It seems to me you're running out, running out.

Sitting, waiting for your phone call.
What's the point, when you're not here?
I don't know why you make me feel this way.
But still I'm falling faster.

I don't know just what he tells you
but to me, it sounds like a lie.
Following letters, following letters in lipstick.
It seems to me you're running out, running out of time.

I've heard a voice, a constant interest
telling me to run & get you.
I feel no need,
you need to fall this time.
You need to fall this --

I don't know just what he tells you
but to me, it sounds like a lie.
Following letters, following letters in lipstick.
It seems to me you're running out, running out of time.

Keeping the letters written in lipstick
Can't believe everything has happened to me at the same time.
I'm running out, running out of time.

I think this song is about a messed up relationship. The girl is following a guy that treats her bad, but she doesn't think so. She wants him and will stay with him. He's trying to tell her, but she won't listen. He won't chase her anymore.

"I've heard a voice, a constant interest telling me to run & get you. I feel no need, you need to fall this time. You need to fall this --"

    • He knows he has to help her, but he doesn't want to. He's saying that she needs to find out herself. She needs to fall on her own.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
