While we may believe
our world - our reality
to be that is - is but one
manifestation of the essence

Other planes lie beyond the reach
of normal sense and common roads
But they are no less real
than what we see or touch or feel

Denied by the blind church
'cause these are not the words of God
- the same God that burnt the
knowing

You're getting half the point, silentl, but his own writings on Burzum.org point to a significantly less open-minded approach. Varg has commented in his essays that the last Norse pagan initiates were burnt at the stake, and the last passage is a clear reference to this itself, not simply to paganism as a whole. It doesn't take more than a passing glance to see Varg views Germanic beliefs as the only true ones, all others being inferior in some way or in many ways. Of course, the meaning, to me, transcends this simple reference, dealing more broadly upon the topic of ideological degeneration itself and in praise of older, more heroic beliefs. (one could make this case for many Burzum songs...)
