The ship is hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh and

Whoo whoo
Whoo whoo
Whoo whoo
Whoo whoo
Into a smiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiile
THE SHIP IS HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH
AND I DON'T KNOW
IF THEY'LL MAKE IT DOWN
BUT IM GONNA TRY TO SLIP INSDE
THE MIND OF A CLOWN
INTO A SMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILE
INTO A SMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILE
INTO A SMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILE
INTO A SMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILE

This was the first song i herd from them on my mum's mp3 player but anyways I also think its "the ship" NOT "your ship" this si what the song means to ME.

The ship is high And I don't know if they'll make it down [That the people he cares about or himself are stuck in this sad mind frame and he's not sure if they'll ever feel "happy"] But I'm gonna try to slip inside the mind of a clown To follow me thinking I can save them Follow me, thinking I can turn their frown Into a smile [He's gunne try and put himself in a "happy" mind frame so than maybe others will copy and be more positive also their for "turn their frown into a smile"]

overall he's just trying to make people feel better and give them hope when maybe theirs none left.

no one has ventured to determine what this song MEANS yet?? im surprised. first of all, im not really sure he really says "your ship": i think he might be saying "the ship" or just implying "the ship". who knows....

in any case, i kinda think its about his feeling responsible for the wellbeing of mankind. the ship is society maybe. i think he says "they follow me " also. hes maybe saying how all these people look up to him to help them and he only hopes he can do it, he's gonna try to slip inside the mind of a clown - ie, be optimistic.

but really the amazing thing about this song, as is with many others - is the music put to these lyrics. its amazing, and always something that gives you goosebumps and fills you with energy. between his voice and that electric guitar riff, and great harmonies...its an amazing song.

Watch the Video for it, and read the lyrics once more. Then you'll probably understand. Anyways, this song is one of my favourite Flickerstick songs, and one of the first songs I heard from them. Its extremely powerful, yet soothing and relaxing. All in all, its AWESOME!

Lyrically, the drug connotation is clear given how "high" is spelled (i.e. hiiiiiiiiiiigh)

Basically, the lyricist is so wasted, he thinks his roach is his soul mate.

the "ship" is a metaphor for his lungs clearly intoxicated by the green stuff.

Turning a "frown" into a "smile" is the concept of taking a downer drug and optimistically enjoying the, ahem, "hiiiigh*.

Not a complex interpretation here. If you've accidentally eaten two brownies too many, the visuals here are as obvious as a brick falling on your head.

    [Edit: misspell.]

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song "Fortnight" by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word "fortnight" shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
